Good job. Only problem I have with it is that one might get the impression naturism is something indulged in primarily by males.

Oh but dakref, naturism is primarily a male pastime which also includes the women those men have recruited! Men are overwhelmingly attracted to nudism and the ladies have to be dragged in kicking and screaming. Ironically, it's the women who come into full flower through naturism when they experience being free of all the baggage that our Textile sisters have to haul around! But you're unlikely to see a lone woman walk into a nudist venue and ask to join in; their programming is too strong and misconceptions about nudism abound. Women are in short supply and that's why men are turned away in droves, just so the women aren't overwhelmed by all the testosterone! That's also why the balance of men and women appears to be relatively even. Plus, many lifelong naturists are married and spouses make up a large percentage of nudist women.

We are constantly trying to get the word out to women that far from being some sort of embarrassing sexual spectacle, social nudism is the most liberating thing they will ever know and it empowers them as little other can. Free of society's demands of physical perfection and competitive beauty, a woman can relax knowing that they're being seen as themselves and not as some artificial construct designed to please everyone but herself. Even better, she's surrounded by other women just as 'natural' as she is! Most men really cannot understand the pressure a woman is under to 'look good' every minute of their lives. And it's not a matter of looking good to themselves, it's looking good for all the wrong reasons for all the wrong people.

Naturism attracts more men than women initially, but when all is said and done it's the women who get the most out of it. Our job as women (and you men can help too!) is to let other women know what a wonderful experience social nudism is, and then drag them into it so they can find out for themselves! (angie)

I have to agree with the popular sentiment here, the clothes optional video does a great job of laying out some good, honest, basic facts of the value of a nude life.

I also watched the movie "Diary of a Nudist" made back in 1961. I had heard of the film before but never saw it. Very interesting seeing the development of the opinions. But more interesting to me was seeing how natural women looked 50 years ago instead of the plastic nature of our society of today. I am sure they were all models or actresses of some degree and hand picked for their image, but there was just something natural about their presence. I also found it interesting that there was never one shot where frontal nudity below the waist was observed. It was funny seeing everyone with crossed legs or wearing shorts if they were at risk of being seen in a frontal shot.

Naturism does seem to attract more men than women. I notice at nude beaches couples more often than not will have the woman in a swim suit (sometimes topless) and most of the time, the male completely naked. It's too bad that these woman don't feel comfortable experiencing how liberating nudity can be. They are missing a great opportunity especially since their male counterpart is present and hopefully will prevent them from being hassled by others (I've seen this listed as a common concern for woman).

I wonder how comfortable the female in a couple is with her male companion being totally nude while she is not? Is this a concern for you ladies out there?

I hope you women will take advantage of naturism while you are with your guy. It's a great opportunity to give it a try.

Men expect women to try to look their best for us; is it any wonder that they don't believe us when we tell them to just forget that lifetime of indoctrination and go somewhere where all their 'faults' are there for everyone to see, and no one will care?

Funny thing is that when we DO manage to drag them kicking and screaming into naturism, that it's the women who embrace it so wholeheartedly! For the first time in their lives all that BS about not being beautiful enough just isn't relevant anymore, and they know it!

All men have to worry about is penis size and muscles, and most are already reconciled to what they have. Among other nudists they quickly realize that there's nothing special about penises, and most guys aren't Adonis's!
