I knew I 'd responded to that thread, so I just searched my old posts. Sure enough I found it easily.

    Here is the article:

I'd like to add that usuallylurk's post is #11, and he felt so strongly about it that he was compelled to bold, increase the font and all caps part of his reply to make his point. (I'm just messing with you Lurk!)

You guys are right - according to the media report the girls weren't "forced" but allowing a bunch of kids to skinny-dip - in a mixed-sex crowd - with their parents not present or consenting - is asking for trouble and they got it.

No caps in this one ... or in this thread.

The world of nudism, or naturism, can go FAR beyond sitting naked at a keyboard. If you never have tried nude recreation - or social nudism - you're missing out on some fantastic life experiences. TRY IT SOMETIME. Contact your local groups. You'll wonder why you didn't do so sooner.

In front of them, and other adults. Uh, no, the kids' parents were not present or (allegedly) aware of this. And people in here questioned why the adults were charged with a misdemeanor -- for putting the kids into a situation they shouldn't have been put into. And why are there laws like that? To protect children from people with less than honorable intentions.

I also read of a custody battle - a teen girl no longer wanted to visit her father at a nudist park. Some thought it would be a wonderful opportunity to educate a family court judge about nudism and sing its praises. As a footnote, the guy wanted to stay in his daughter's life and it was agreed he could visit her - elsewhere.

Then we had the case of the guy in Ontario who tried using the "free expression" argument when he drove up to a Tim Horton's take-out window without his pants on.
Now, how is that different from a flasher on a street corner? I still haven't figured that one out - but some CFFers could not see the similarities.

And others think - well, if you shock people with your nudity in public, maybe it will lead to tolerance! Yeah, sure. Right.

Take it from someone who's been around nudism for three decades plus.

    1) Keep your pants on (or shirt, if appropriate) where it's appropriate to do so.
    2) Only take 'em off in places where people don't mind you doing that.

And please don't ask the nudist / naturist / clothes-optional community for sympathy, or moral support, or financial assistance, when you break rule 1) above.
Agree with you 100 per cent. I should have been more specific in what I was attempting to get across. That is drugs and alcohol are not necessary for a good time, and that excesses lead to situations like the two we have just seen.

You should also have noticed that I have repeatedly written that a single individual breaking the law, lands himself in jail, but the strength of numbers could bring about change. Of course there are exceptions, and there will always be controversy over the law. We see persecution and prosecution in places even where laws have not been broken.

We just do not seem to have the 'numbers' anymore.

Thanks, I thought something sounded wrong. I do think that the charges were a stretch, but still not a smart thing to do.
An opinion shared by many does not make it true.

When I get drunk, I'm more likely to go topless than bottomless. To each her own.
The best drinks are named after places. Burgundy, France. Tequila, Mexico. 六安茶, 安徽. Pepsi Cola, Florida.
