Take family( reluctant spouse) to an european naturist resort? Which?

I'm sort of a Die Hard Naturist and I can't remember the last time I had to wear swimshorts(?) at beach. My wive go topless, or if the beach has the right amount of nude couples, nude too. I have talked about going to Cap D'agde naturist village on summerholiday but she's not into that idea at all. Probably she can take only that much nudity at a time and she thinks 24/7 will be to much. Then what? Are there some resorts in europe that are relaxed naturist/CO where we can experience both naturism and she can a bit away from it all when it becomes too much? Can I possibly convince her to go to a pure naturist resort like mentioned or perhaps some other?
we have 2 boys aged 6 and 3.
    Best regards
    Søren

Cap d'Agde has something of a reputation for extreme behaviour, so probably not the best place to take her, especially with two boys. One of the nicest family-friendly naturist areas we've found is Vera Playa on the Med coast in mainland Spain. It attracts lots of Spanish families, and typically within a family group you'll find not all are nude (often the older ladies and teenage girls tend to wear swimsuits). It has about 2km of quiet naturist beach, backed by a number of apartment complexes, most of which are CO (but no clothes allowed in the swimming pools). There are beach bars for lunch or refreshments, and these are naturist friendly. There are restaurants and bars around, and an excellent supermarket. The streets around most of the apartment complexes are naturist too, so if you wish you can stroll from your apartment to the beach without having to dress. There's an Aquapark nearby to amuse the kids. There's also a hotel (Vera Playa Club) right on the beach, which is naturist during daylight hours only.

We spent 10 days in Vera Playa earlier this month, and had a great time. I'd been before, but it was my wife's first visit, and she's already booked to go back with a girlfriend in September! I was naked almost 24/7, but my wife covered up to walk to the beach and to go to the beach bar, apart from that she was happy to sunbathe naked.

You'll find lots of information about Vera Playa at http://www.veraplaya.info/ and I'd be happy to answer any other questions if you message me.

Another family-friendly naturist area we've stayed at is Leucate Village in France, just down the coast from Cap d'Agde. It has a lovely beach, lots of nice apartments, a couple of pools, a couple of restaurants and a little shopping centre (which you can visit nude). The freshly-baked baguettes and croissants first thing in the morning are addictively gorgeous!

Despite my Agde name, I agree that, especially during high summer, there are many better places for first-timers than Cap d'Agde. If you are intent on France, take a look at France4Naturisme for ideas. EuroNat or, as Tiger says, Leucate Village, or any of the other places listed are great for relaxed holidays and site-seeing.

Consider Vritomartis < http://www.vritomartis.com/ > on the Greek island of Crete. It is a great place to take a reluctant spouse. The pool deck and resort beach are mandatory nude during the day. Other outside areas are clothing optional during the day. Clothing is required inside the main hotel building, but not in the bungalows. Clothing is required everywhere at night. The surrounding area offers gorgeous scenery and lots of historic sites. The food is fantastic. Virtually everyone you might encounter as a tourist is fluent in English.

I can't see that somewhere that's compulsory nude can be a sensible place to take a reluctant naturist!

Aside from that, our experience of Vritomartis was very different. The beach isn't nice. The loungers around the pool are in short supply, as well as being old and tired. The food is on the passable side of average. It's not good value.

I'm sorry to hear you didn't have a good time. Your experience was completely different from ours. We would not hesitate to go back if we were planning another trip to Greece.

I also agree with Mosquito_Bait. We went to Vritomartis in August last year. We had a great time.

We went in June last year, and it was not an enjoyable holiday. I'm pleased you enjoyed Vritomartis, but I still consider it poor value. Regardless, as it has a compulsory nude policy in the pool area, it doesn't seem to be a sensible place to take a spouse who's reluctant to be nude in public.

^^ Regarding the compulsory nude policy on the beach and the pool deck, Vritomartis checks all the boxes that might be important to a reluctant spouse.

    1. No gawkers.
    2. No lewd behavior.
    3. It's remote, so there is no chance you will be seen by anybody you know.

In a worst case scenario in which a reluctant spouse is unable to adapt to nudism, there are textile beaches nearby, there are plenty of interesting non-beach places to visit nearby, and the resort is essentially textile during the evenings.

One other place that my wife and I visited that we really enjoyed is Club Orient on St. Martin, but I would not recommend that as a place to visit with a reluctant spouse. Every afternoon, busloads of cruise ship passengers with cameras would parade through the nude area to gawk at the nudists. You have to be well past the point of having any anxieties about being seen nude to tolerate it.
