How many nudists in America?

There are definately more nudists than are counted. Many people practice home nudity that are not counted. As also stated, there are many who practice home nudity that do not consider themselves nudists. It's just a way of life i.e, choosing to remain nude after a shower in the evenings, daytime, etc. Many choose to remain nude after undressing when they return back home from work, "naked" weekends, etc, but they will not participate in social nudism if given the chance. And there are nudists such as myself who do not join any clubs, but call myself a nudist because it is a preferred way of life whenever possible, socially or only at home.

I have found that it is easy to make nudist friends.....but difficult to make friends into nudists.

I only date women who are at the very LEAST nudism friendly.

I've heard that AANR is running around 38,000 in members or so, but I know a lot of people aren't AANR members.

I think it's impossible to define what a "nudist" is, so it's impossible to know how many there might be.

It's certainly true though that organised nudism is waning rapidly. Although the AANR continues to claim "nearly 50,000 members", the true figure is way lower - a report from a June 2010 regional convention gave a total AANR membership of only 36,820. So my guess is that today the AANR has closer to 30,000 members

When it comes to dating, I maintain the good old "Don't ask, don't tell" attitude. (Unless the guy is a bonafide nudist)

If the subject comes up, I honestly state that I enjoy social nude recreation. This has prompted some interesting conversations/questions. I don't think I have lost a friendship because of my lifestyle but I have not "recruited" any joiners. Oh, I have had a couple of brave dates "give it a try" and visit a club with me but one visit was as far as it went.

I've dated a few ladies recently, who seemed very open minded. Well into the relationships,about a few months, I mentioned that I enjoyed social nudism. They started wondering where I ws heading off to on nice sunny days. LOL They usually take notice of the all over tan and they know I'm not a salon type of guy. They both looked at me like I was crazy and broke up with me. There was no attempt to get them to go. Its funny. Both ladies enjoyed the fact that I am almost ALWAYS nude at home.

I like ladies who are cool. If a lady isn't, as I eluded to earlier, nudism friendly and preferably a nudist herself, SHE probably isn't. ( cool )

I believe that the nudist/naturist population is dwindling. I remember seeing several young families with little kids regularly enjoying themselves at Laguna Del Sol a few years ago.
At my last visit there were no young people to be seen. (Under 30's) and no little kids at all.......(?)

I live in Florida and I frequent Sunsport Gardens. Most weekends there are some little kids and a few 30 somethings.
A couple of times a year FYN ( Florida Young Naturists ) throws parties that last all weekend and attracts 100's of 18 -30 year old
nudists, from all over the country. A few years ago, I met a dude and his girlriend, who drove all the way from Las Vegas.
