Hosting her 1st nude couples get together since coming out

After 14 yrs at the time of being a avid backyard/home nudist and a few failed attempts to move to the social side of nudity, my wife is hosting 1st couples Home together since she came out socially with friends we made at the resort. This has been attempted in the past which she couldn't bring herself to undress even to get in the hot tub. It became awkward for the guest which in turn caused me to feel awkward for them.

We've spent a lot of naked time this summer with these friends and I was kind of surprised to learn last night she was even the slightest bit nervous since she is quite the hostess anyway and she's spent much of the summer with them naked at the resort. I haven't given it much thought personally other than I think the female sets the party tone. And maybe thats the "man" side of me coming out.

What is your thoughts for the proper etiquette for hosting a home get together such as best way to even answer the door ect?

First, Congrats on this step in social nudism!

I think all women are nervous about hosting parties. They want everything to be "just right." I know my wife frets about things before any type of gathering. Adding the element of nudity makes it a bit more nerve racking for some women ... my wife included. Because a "home" nude gathering is more intimate than a club or resort setting, it can take some getting used to and with repetition, it gets easier and easier. My wife's been a nudist for over 39 yrs, the last 15+ as a social nudist ... she still gets a little nervous about nude home gatherings ... but it's short lived and not nearly as often as it used to be.

Answering the door; Personally, we'd answer the door in sarongs/pareos. After greeting your guests, show them a room they can get comfortable in and where the bathroom/bathrooms are. They can undress, leave their belongings in the room and emerge naked or wearing a pareo/sarong. You and your wife then set the tone, if the emerge with sarongs and you have your's on ... that's fine. If the emerge and you both have your's off, they will follow suit quickly. They are there to gather with friends in the nude. If your wife or another female doesn't shed her sarong/pareo quickly ... that's okay too. They will as the time passes and they decide what's right for them.

During our nude gatherings, my wife is nervous about the appearance of the house, the food, the drinks, the ...whatever. The nervousness increases when she's naked. What I've done is take the focus off my wife and take the guest attention away from her til she can re-adjust and get her head in the game! hahaha Sometimes just taking the guests on a tour of the house, backyard, showing them to another room while you get some drinks, works wonders for your wife to take a breath and get back in the game! For my wife and the female nudist friends in our circle, they too have some of the same anxieties when hosting their nude home gatherings ... and we've been hanging out nude with them for over 10 years!

Good luck with your gathering. I'm sure it'll go well and by the end of the night, probably be laughing about the nervousness.

I would like to second FireProf's reply above.

I hostess a "Pool Party" every summer for friends who are comfortable with social nudity. Some are Nudists/naturists others simply enjoy social "skinny dipping". Attendance is usually between 6 to 10 couples and may include a few singles.

As FireProf suggests, I provide a room for changing and I do greet guests wearing a sarong. This is important when "first-timers" attend. My unwritten rules are: clothing optional in the house, patio and pool deck. Nude in pool and hot tub. (I found that some folks are uncomfortable at the buffet or eating while nude.) We try to be cognoscente of "new folks" and keep them comfortable. "First timers" seem to keep something on until they "take-a-dip". Then they tend to put on less and less after successive dips.

I admit that I do fret about the details and hope everyone has a good time......but I do that at any function.

FireProf is right about "setting the mood". I have never had a complaint or an unhappy guest. In fact, in my circle of friends, an invitation to Gloria's Pool Party is a "Hot Ticket".

And after reading the responses I pondered...It boggles the mind how men just manage to miss stuff and details that make a diff to our significant other as we do. For me its not like I dont know my wife, for gosh sakes were open, honest and together 24/7 365 for 15 yrs plus joined at the hip.

Of course the host and hostess will be nervous throwing a party. Aren't we always unless we do it so often that we have it down pat? I always like throwing the party because it gets the house clean!!!
