Im not sure but the last time I checked a 9 year old girl is a hell of a lot bigger than a skunk! I find this defense a bit weak.

You got that right! I have never seen a skunk much bigger than a cat and the guy with the gun has no defense for what he did outside of being dangerously careless in using a firearm. Fortunately no one was killed by this nitwit.

Who ever said that owning a gun means the owner has the wisdom to use it properly? Does owning a car automatically make you a wise driver? Does owning a computer mean you know how to cut and paste all of your arguments?

I don't have any statistics to quote, and the shooter gets no trophy for bagging young girls, but this sort of thing happens from time to time. Gopher hunters get killed sometimes because, when you lay in the grass whith your head sticking up, your head looks like a gopher. Turkey hunters get shot wearing red and blue bandanas (the colors on a turkey head). There is a reason hunters wear bright orange. But taking shots in the dark on Halloween is pretty reckless.
