what if...?
ok, so my fiance knows that i like to go nude around the house whenever possible. she knows that someday i'd like to try a nudist resort/colony/whatever you call these places like we have here in dfw. she knows i've been to nude saunas.
she does not fancy going nude, even around the house. but, what if i did someday convince her to go to a nude recreation place...well, she gets chilled pretty easy. my main question and point to this ramble is...if she gets cold would it be taboo for her to be the one to put something on? and if it is acceptable, what would you recommend she put on so as not to violate any "no clothes" rule?

Re: what if...?
Its not taboo to cover up if she gets cold. Its sensible. A towel, t-shirt, whatever works for her.

Re: what if...?
I would recommend against starting out with a clothing-optional ski trip to insure your fiance (or wife by then) does not even have to worry about this issue!
The traditional "clothing is as weather does" type of policy will always hold true! It's not just the cold that can get to our hides in these various settings, so you also need to consider excessive sun (sunscreen & big hat), being caught in the rain (a poncho IS practical), and anything else that may make her uncomfortable during early outings together. It is perfectly reasonable for someone new to clothing-optional recreation made uncomfortable a repeated or lingering stares to seek cover, although the more you "do nudism" together the more empowered and emboldened you BOTH will feel.
Staring is NOT something either of you should need to worry about in most nude settings, but it may happen. If your outings are to well established nudist resorts or parties sponsored by non-landed travel clubs, then etiquette will certainly not be an issue. The owners, hosts, and senior members of the club will be looking out for you and most definitely will appreciate discreet feedback on anything making the event less enjoyable.

Re: what if...?
thanks for the info i figured putting on a tshirt or something would be ok, but wasn't sure. now, if i can just get her to go sometime
i really don't think she's got a concern about the modesty level or someone staring, but more the fact that she just prefers wearing clothes most of the time due to comfort. i'll be kicking off the covers at night completely nude and she'll be covered with a sheet and a comforter while wearing pj pants and a tank top, ha!

Re: what if...?
The weather and temperature is a major factor. The first time I brought my wife to a naturist club the weather was cool on the first day. We ended up going and doing some sightseeing within the area. The resort was a 5 hour drive from home and part of a trip.
It warmed up nicely on the second day and my wife managed to be comfortable without clothes on for most of the afternoon. This was our first time together ( I had been to a nude beach before). She is always cold so the outside temperature is always a factor for her.

Re: what if...?
Being a naturist doesn't preclude common sense. I'm up at night (I work second shift and then need a long while to wind down before bed) and I'm looking forward to that naked time. The thing is until it's warm enough I'll keep my sleep pants, t-shirt, and socks on. When it's finally warm they're gone for six months.

Re: what if...?
I enjoy being nude as much as possible but I also need to be WARM! I hate to be cold or chilly and I am the first person to put on whatever clothes I need to to be warm. I have been sleeping nude for over 30 years but I also have sleep pants and t-shirts that I will put on if it is too cold to do so. I moved to the south to get out of the cold weather, I am not going to sit around and shiver just to prove that I am a nudist. Tell your wife if she is cold, cover up however she needs to so she is warm and comfortable. Everyone has a different comfort level when it comes to body temp. No one is going to fault her or think twice when she is just trying to be comfortable. Nude is nice, warm is better!

Re: what if...?
cool, you all are incredibly helpful i didn't really think too many people would be freaked out, but i was really wondering if someone got chilled when it's say 70 out and they put on a bit of clothing if they'd say something. i can usually handle being nude or in shorts down to temps that most people here in tx would say is freeeeeeezing

Re: what if...?
If she doesn't like the idea of nudism, and you do -- this is the time to resolve that, not after you get married.
It may come down to your willingness to give it up OR her willingness to accept it.

that is good advice...but it's not THAT big a deal to me in the whole scheme of things. it's not something i've practiced much outside of the house. yes i would love to go to a nude recreation place...and i know she wouldn't care if i went by myself...and maybe someday i'll get her to go with me too
