I would like to suggest that you allow members to decide if they want others to be able to view recent posts.
I'm uncomfortable with this feature being available, because I don't want others to be able to build a profile of me and my attitudes towards nudism.
In fact, recently, someone didn't like a topic that I started, and checked out my recent posts so that he could take a few shots at me.
Note: I don't mind the Administrators being able to monitor recent posts in order to weed out weirdos and flamers.
If you think about it, there's not a real good reason why people should be allowed to read recent posts of one person. However, all I'm asking is that you allow each member to choose whether this feature is turned on or not.

Then why do you post your opinions on a public forum?

I tried and tried, I can't find a way to turn off that feature. I guess it is the nature of this forum. Just be careful what you post as others can read it all. Also, you can delete anything you have posted in the past since you posted it. Good luck and thank you for posting!!

It seems to me that the nature of posting on a public forum is that each of us acquires a public record. Why would we not want to take responsibility for our own comments?
The individual record that we each create by our own writings becomes important to the heatlh of the forum. In an earlier part of the history of this forum it was nearly destroyed because of the hate-filled rantings of a very few. The basis for them finally being excluded by the administrators was not a single post, but the compilation of many of their posts.
Finally, it's not as though anyone actually knows who you are and can write letters to your local newspaper complaining about your views. Unless your real name is actually "Gary Naturist" you already are posting in anonymity. How much do you really need to be unknown?

All I can say is--don't post anything you don't want read or replied to. I don't care who sees what I post since I'm just "voicing" my opinion. As far as I know no one except for the administrators have access to who you really are. Personally, I don't care if other people have access to my name or E-mail address, but not my home address. Luvnaturism: I can't agree more with your
sentiments. We as administrators are here to
promote the free exchange of ideas as it relates
to naturism. I understand what Gary Naturist
is talking about, however it's been a long while
since the consistent abuse of this forum and
those who take part has been a problem.

As an alternative, how about reducing the number of recent posts that may be viewed to, say, 15?

Gary,
I am sure that you have heard a similar view from a couple of people already, but as long as you have good intentions and are consistent with your views, then there should be no problem. With high consistent activity, then people will know your positions better, with less misunderstandings. If you are consistently inconsistent with posts, then you may have problem. If you have a split personality (I am just funning here, don't get upset), then you may want to consider another anonymous handle, to post the contoversial posts / questions. Just an option.
To the webmaster, I often read the new posts page, it is very helpful to see the days posts, without having to search through every topic. I wish more BB's had this feature. I would think most people would agree.
