Although Lighthouse Beach on Fire Island, NY is among the best beaches I've been to, it has no life guards. This is a concern to me as a parent. Also, there are not many families that go there, mostly only adults. (Perhaps because there are no life guards.) Are there any family friendly clothing optional beaches in NY?

Gunnison Beach, part of Sandy Hook is across the bay in NJ. They have lifeguards stationed until 6:00 during the summer.
