i have read a few post about people answering their doors in the nude and i was wondering if it was against the law to do that even though you didnt mean it to be sexual. i was also wondering if you can get in trouble if you are seen walking around your house naked.i am sure it can be different for where you live and i live in wyoming so i am not sure.does anyone know anything about my questions.

We've had these questions before. Basically, laws
vary state to state. In terms of being naked in
your own home, it's a private property issue
that is usually upheld by the courts. It gets a
bit dicey if you're parading around a window
where others can see you. As for answering your
door in the nude..laws vary greatly on that one.

Answering the door in the nude shouldn't be considered offensive, especially if the person happens to be a salesman or a food delivery (pizza) person. They should be used to this at times. I'm sure they, at times, have hit upon customers who may be relaxing in the nude at home. And for the salesmen, if you do not wish for these particular people to keep showing up at the door, then maybe answering the door in the nude may be the answer. I'm sure the word will get around, to avoid "the house with the naked person".

Sorry guys: after reading my response, I realized I never answered the question. Answering the door in the nude, to me, shouldn't be considered against the law, especially if the person is a saleman. The salesman is trying to make a presentation for his product, and going door to door, I'm sure they have seen many types of dressed or even non-dressed persons before. They are knocking at "your" door during "your" time of leisure. For them to invade your privacy shouldn't be considered unlawful, especially if you like to relax in the nude, and nobody is expected.
On the other hand, the "pizza boy" could be a different story. YOU made the call for a delivery, and YOU are expecting someone to come up to your door. This may be a fine line on unlawful behaviour. Granted, the "pizza boy" may not be offended, but when he/she gets back to the business and starts to tell everyone, serious allegations could ensue, especially if the person they told is the boss. I'm sure some bosses will "stick up" for their employees, just to make themselves look good, and make the call to local law enforcement authorities.
Excellent question. I'm looking forward to further responses on this subject.

To avoid offending anyone, I won't say which religion this was. I heard a story about a woman who couldn't get rid of pesky and determined people at her door. Personally, I would have simply closed the door as I've done.
The husband was nude and figured he would get rid of them and went to the door nude. After one look they quickly left and never returned, and they supposedly had no more such callers.

I've known several people involved in religions with door-to-door ministry. I asked some of them if this type of thing did indeed happen, and if so, how did they handle it. They all gave me pretty much the same response, in slightly different words, but basically as follows:
"I see I've caught you at a bad time. I'll leave this tract (or magazine, or whatever) here on your porch, and perhaps we can talk again at a later time."
And they told me yes, they do send someone back at a later time, but usually someone of the same sex as the person who answered the door undressed.
Just FYI.

From what I was told the people in the story didn't handle the situation that well. They were so embarrassed that they never returned or sent anyone else. They were probably both women who were too flustered to know what to do so they left hurriedly.
