I grew up here in Des Moines' west side (Urbandale) and want to get to know nudist people. I am single and the nudist club around here puts up a big "road block" for singles. I am looking for new friendships (nicer people) and a possible (straight) dating relationship. After I graduate with an associates degree, I hope to be financially able to move to the outskirts of Phoenix, AZ. I'd rather live in the country with more privacy, instead of the city.

Dale,
It's unfortunate that many clubs and resorts are suspicious of single men. It doesn't matter if he's married and has to go alone because his won't go, or if he's divorced with children as I am, or widowed. None of us are trusted.
There are a few places that accept unmarried men with no problem. I was a member of Forest Hills Club for a year. Now I go to Turtle Lake Resort. Both are in Michigan.
I hope you can find a place to enjoy social nudity and friends with whom to enjoy it. By the way, we have an Urbandale here in Battle Creek, too.

Dale: I'm curious..why Phoenix? I'm sure you're
aware the economy here sucks and it's very
crowded.

Bartamus:
Phoenix? Well, AZ is over-all warmer than Iowa. I know other states are as well, but I'd rather not deal with the hurricanes of the south-east or earthquakes of Cali. I'm tired of the cold winters (especially from the 2000-2001 season -- there was a lot of snow that year) and ready for someplace warmer. Plus, I have taken a course in Massage Therapy but wasn't able to successfully pass the national exam, and haven't been able to re-take the exam. I would most likely take a refresher course at a school in AZ.
Jon-Mark:
Hmmm? I wonder how many other cities/towns are named Urbandale in this country.?
Yes, it is unfortunate that anti-trust runs rampant, not only to single male nudists, but it is also prevelant in the clothed people. With dishonest people around, I am not surprised by a lack of trust. I wish there were magical switches to turn off the dishonesty and turn on trust. I know things just don't happen that way, but it never hurts to dream a little.
Sometime in my future, I would like to start a club that doesn't discriminate against single males and keeps our eyes wide open for possibilities of dishonest people.

Dale,
I've day dreamed about owning my own resort where EVERYONE would be welcome. They would only be "judged" (for lack of a better word) by their behavior and not their marital status, tattoos or piercings. Gays would also be welcome as long as their behavior also was appropriate. I don't have to approve of a lifestyle or a decision to do things to one's body that others don't approve of in order to accept a person, despite the fact that I was called prejudice because I won't accept something of which I don't approve.
It's strange that other people can tell me what they don't like about me, but when I do it I'm criticized. Do I detect a double standard there? What's right for the goose isn't right for the gander? That's like the words I often heard from my dad as I grew up, "Do as I say and not as I do." In other words, that person is saying, "It's alright for me, but it's not alright for you."?
