And INA has a few things to answer to here as well.

Nudist organizations for the past 100 years have been fighting the nudity /= sex thing, so what happens? Desert Shadows allows Ron Jeremy to participate in the naked volleyball tournament?

I guess now nudity = porn.

I'm sure Mr. Jeremy is a decent updstanding fellow, but what in the hell was desert shadows thinking? Inviting porn stars to participate in supposedly family nudist activities does not help our cause.

Christ, this travesty rivals that "nudes-a-poppin" crap. Someone really needs to step to the forefront of decent family naturism and get rid of these idiots who are destroying what naturism is really about.

Sorry for the rant, but this latest nonsense just pissed me off.

I guess if someone asks me to go to my nudist club, I'll have to warn them that porn stars might show up, and to leave grandma at home.

I totally agree. That is why we are editing him out as much as possible. I was there, but he wasn't personally invited and he didn't even know he was coming there. It was all a part of "reality" TV, the "Surreal Life 2". They brought a bunch of celebs to a nudist resort without them knowing. One just happens to be a porn star. As another invited guest, I couldn't kick Ron Jeremy out myself. But I didn't aim the camera at him either.

Just because Ron Jeremy is at a place of business doesn't mean that business endorses him.

I think Desert Shadows did a great job dealing with it though. I heard the controversy first hand and it was either not let the whole show in or just watch that one guy. He behaved fine and stay dressed. He said he is not a nudist. And nudism still is definately not about sex.

Also, grandma is safe. The Desert Shadows Inn was closed to the public for that day just for the filming.

My beef with desert shadows is allowing him to participate in this event, knowing it would be broadcast on network tv.

This is NOT the message desert shadows needs to be sending out. A jr. high school campaign manager would have the good sense not to allow him to participate.

I do give INA props for editing him out as much as possible, but INA did fumble the ball by having the latest "nudes in the news" publicize his name.

I don't want to sound like an old prude, but we REALLY need be be careful about what we do here.

I was one who was vocalizing not to have him there. Ron's name was memtioned as one of the celebs in the news broadcast against my wishes. It was in the press release that was read. We cover events even if we don't agree with 100% of it.

Trust me, Ron would not be invited to most clubs on his own.

i think you are confusing issues here. The nudist organizations are against nudism=sex. Plain nudity can be just about anything it wants to be including streaking, porn, art, sex, naturism, stripping or anything else you can think of that is done nude.

Please, as a nudist, don't try to define nudity for everyone. You can define nudism all you want but nudism does not own all nudity.

yes but zuma does have a point.... we do have to be carefull how our lifestyle is publicised where possible....

Please pardon my ignorance as well.

But unless people follow or know of certain people in the Porn industry then the name itself would mean nothing to them. If only his name is mentioned and nothing about what type of work he does is not mentioned then he is just another face in the crowd as far as I am concerned. The more fuss that is made over the guy the more attention you bring to it. I think that by editing him out as much as possible was good and if his name is mentioned his particular line of work is not.

Kudos to Corky and his group for their good work.

I agree with that. We only have ourselves to blame that your average person on the street doesn't know what a nudist is. Corky and gang are rectifying that with their publicity but let's face it, there are too many nudists still in the closet and years of nudism being hidden from the general public has created a problem with public image.

That is why I am going to be front and center at Shane's concert this Saturday, nude and videotaped forever.

What I don't like is nudists hijacking nudity and insisting that all nudity represent nudism and that isn't gonna work. There is room for all kinds of positive nudity.
