I just got back from my first stay at a nudist venue. I went by myself and rented a campsite. It was my springbreak trip. I stayed only a short time (two nights) but during and days afterward I felt like an asexual being.
I am normally easily stimulated, (I get a slight erection regularly) Since I am a 21 year old man I estimate this to a healthy sexual appetite.
My penis was flaccid the entire time I stayed there and days after. I don't know what to attribute this to but it did not feel good to experience a lack of sexuality.
I am wondering how other naturists, with so much emphasis on the discouragement of sexuality, see the erection as a embarrassment or a threat. Always stressing covering up is not what naturism is for me.

I think you will find that no one wants to discourage sexuality, after all it is a natural thing. I have found that the majority of naturists that I have associated with are no less sexual than anyone else.
I also do not beleive that you will find that not too many people are embarrased either.I am sure that I may be corrected, but I think the main issue is that no one knows what is on your mind, and what your intentions are. Is your erection sexually motivated, or is it just from the breeze. By covering it or at least being discreet you show respect to those around you, and you mean no ill will.
By no means feel you need to be less sexual, but there is a time and place for everything

Or it could just be that you're constantly being titillated by your fantasies. I'm not sure how "healthy" it is but I guess it's not uncommon amongst those who see the human body only in sexual terms.

Or do you mean that nudity is not the sexual experience you had hoped for?

It is not sexuality which is discouraged but overt sexual behaviour. There are practical reasons for this, not least that it is hard enough to get general public (and official) acceptance of naturist venues as it is, without having to fight accusations that naturism is nothing more than a thinly veiled excuse for public sex.
If you can think of nudity only in sexual terms then you are still shackled to the irrational cultural values which most naturists eventually abandon - but it does take some time as these cultural values can be very deeply embedded.
I doubt that anyone thinks that naturism is about "always stressing covering up" (no, I take that back: I'm sure there are some naturists that think like that) but if it's not that for you then what, in your opinion, is naturism about?

some of those erections that you and other young males have regularly are not based on sexuality at all, but more on human male body reactions. they can occur at the most unusual moments, and not due to sexual thoughts. could be the wind, exercise, clothes rubbing you in a new way, so be pleased that your body is functioning properly.
i hope that the nudist venue experience has not scared your willy into not standing proud anymore!!! i'm sure it will recover shortly....

Perhaps your penis got sunburnt!
Gotta use sunblock there...But, erections are not common place a nude venues. The second your body thinks one might be comming, it'll turn it off. Initially, it is more of a strong opposition to an erection (maybe it lasted several days after). Because the erection may be a big fear for you. I found that the case for me. Problems came when I got more comfortable being in a nude environment. I found my erections to be more "regular", but never full fledged. I either ignore it and it goes away or just cover it up.
Double check your memory about the sun block (greasy residue) on the penis or if it actually got sunburned. Both of those can alter normal sensations...and perhaps lead to a sense of irregular erection cycles.
