Hello friends,

I was just wondering if there are any other Linux users on here? I am running Ubuntu 7.4 Feisty Fawn, on an old i386.

I threw my old 386 away a few weeks ago because to me it was just taking up space. I don't have a computer right now that I could load Linux on because my old 1 GHz Pentium III decided to not turn on a few days ago.

I am down to just having my current computer working and I hope it continues that way. It is running Windows XP because I run a lot of software that is written specifically for MS Windows.

I'm a Feisty Fawn too! Those Ubuntu people have done a great job. And got to love the pro-nudist artwork that it originally came out with:

I also happily use Windows. From my perspective, why not run both and get the best of each.

That's what I'm running right now while reading this news. I only use MSWin when work requries me to do so, My machine here, an AMD K7, is dual hosted with Ununtu and XP Media center.

I have an older version (99/2000?) of Red Hat Linux on an AMD box of the same era. I will probably be installing versions of Linux on some other computers soon for some nerdy projects I have going on.

Linux is a great nerd's operating system, and has certainly been crucial to the economical development of the web, as those such as Microsoft try to figure out what's going on and slowly catch up with affordable web server software of their own.

Installed Ubuntu 7.4 2 weeks ago on my 900 mhz 512 mb ram. Running a triple boot with Mandriva and Win 2000. Ubuntu is my favourite. Runs very smooth and very fast on this old machine. Only run Win 2000 when i need it. It's a matter of choice. But now I feel more now free , now that I'm not forced to use a microsoft system any more.
