I see many new members, and more join everyday. I have also noticed that many have not posted. Some may not want to post, some may feel uncomfortable. Can we, some how welcome them, and invite them into our conversations?

Welcome new members,
We were all new at one point, and everyone is welcome to comment on whatever they would like.

It is some interesting reading, but it is alot more fun to participate! I love it... so join in!

Welcome, one and all, those who are new and those who aren't members of the forum but are just looking. It would be a lot more interesting and fun if you joined the forum and added your 2 cents worth. It costs nothing to join the forum. [img]/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif[/img]

For all who have posted here on this question..
Perhaps a good way to get all those people who
enter the forum but don't participate, is for all
of you who debate via long drawn out articles..
to shorten things up.
I'm afraid we give them the impression that
unless you write long doctoral disertations on
this forum..you aren't contributing.
I've mentioned this problem before. We strongly
believe it's the paramount reason why we aren't
seeing more forum members make the jump from
reading...to writing!

as someone who has never even registered much less posted until now... I have some thoughts.

Bartamus is spot on. It gets really dull and boring to read these dissertation-length posts. Furthermore, it gets especially dull and boring when it's THE SAME PEOPLE in every argument every time. It's almost like there's a sort of debating society here. This debating society has moved on beyond beating dead horses and is now beating the stains on the ground where the dead horse used to be. I'm not going to name names, but you know who you are. You're turning people off. LET IT GO.

Also... a lot of things that come up here have really been discussed over, and over, and over, and over again before. It's impossible to get interested in yet another "what do I do if I get an erection?" thread, for instance. And the "I'm looking for nudists in (some place)" threads. Search the web, people! Find the places where all this stuff has been covered before.

I may or may not post again - it all depends on whether (a) the debating society can rein themselves in and allow someone else to take the floor, and (b) the next person on the floor brings up something that's really interesting to talk about. I'm working on (b). But I have no control over (a).

I hope you stay and can get interested enough to contribute. We desperately need something new posted here.

I agree with you and Bart that one reason I post less is that it's gotten boring. The looooooong posts repeating the same things continually are tiresome.

I enjoy the joke posts very much. It helps to brighten one's day. Does everything have to be a debate? [img]/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif[/img]

I aggree, however there is only a few items that can be talked about on topic so it seems. I guess my point is can someone perhaps one of the unregistered folks, bring something new to the table for discussion?
Perhaps we (any one registered or otherwise) can come up with some new catagory suggestions.
just a thought.
