WOW!!! Just joined. Lots of shavers it seems, both male and female. When I first became involved in Nudism back in the 1980's, I was the only shaver I saw. Now it seems everyone is doing it. GREAT!!!

Thanks for the reply. But my situation is a bit different from all the people looking to shave to make their penis look bigger. I am very hairy, more on my back than most men have on their chest. When I was around 19, I developed an odor there, very offensive and oppressive. I went to my doctor and tried everything, pills, creams, sprays, powders, ointments, nothing worked. He then suggested that I remove my pubic hair. I thought it was weird, but he told me that since the bacteria causing the odor was attached to the hair follicles, then maybe by removing the hair, I could remove the odor. I did it and am eternally grateful for that advice. I never let it bother me when I was among nudists before shaving came into vogue and never had a bad word from anyone when i gave my explanation as to why. I can not imagine what I would look like with hair since I have gone almost 30 years without any any can concieve of growing it back. Ever. It isn't always by choice. Plus, since I loathe wearing underwear, never get any hair caught in the zippers. It just works for me.

teeoff65,
In reply to your question to Nudemike about the itching in the groin area. I have been smooth down there for almost a year now and enjoy it. I find when I work out I don't sweat as much or itch that much either. After I shave, which is about twice a week, I put a skin moistureize on. I also apply this moistureizer after every shower. I rarely have an itching problem.

It's just like anything else that you try different, it takes a while for our body to adjust. If ever you try it again, keep it shaved regularly for a couple of weeks, after that time your skin will get used to it and the itching and irritation goes away. I've been shaving regularly for about 5 years now, I don't think I could stop if I wanted to (I can't imagine that I ever would).

I also keep my scrotal area shaved and the pubic hair trimmed short and have been doing so for over 10 yrs now,it really cuts down if not completely relieving sweating and itching in that area, and summer jock itch is a thing of the past.
Oh yeah I never wear any underwear I prefer going commando.

I've been shaving my pubes for so long that I cannot remember having hair. And I agree - any iching goes away after a short while as does the jock itch. Sure feels good too.
