We are relatively new to the nudist lifestyls and are curious to hear from others on how their kids have reacted to this. We have 3 kids, all teens and are curious as to how others have handled this.

Justnude:
I really can't help you with your question, since I am the only nudist in my family. Wife is OK with it, as long as the kids aren't home, and kids are not OK with it.
But, I'm curious about something. I see you posted this question in the Nudity and Religion section? Is that because you have religious/spiritual questions about family nudism? Just wondering.

I have had no personal experience; I was divorced (no children of my own) before I became a nudist. But others have indicated that, although young children usually take to nudism like a duck to water, teenagers have a few issues, primarily body shyness. Even some teens who have been raised as nudists suddenly start refusing to go naked. But others seem to be all right with it.
I wish you well!

Jochanann,
Did I miss something? Are these kids still kids or are they teenagers?
Pre-teen kids are not ashamed of their bodies unless someone taught them to be.

trailscout do you have kids? the following statement is a bit false -
Pre-teen kids are not ashamed of their bodies unless someone taught them to be.
its not someone teaching them this, it is all of society. my one son who enjoys nudism as much as me (he's 7) hears from society in general that things are girlie, you should not be nude, hang out with the boys, act tough, etc. etc. the pressure for boys and girls to act a certain way starts in kindergarten, and really starts hard in second grade. pre-teen assumes anyone less than 13 (thir-TEEN), by that age, many have been influenced to assume nudity=sex. you need to start deprogramming them as soon as they are old enough to read and watch the tv. by pre-teen, they have already gotten used to nudity=sex and it would seem to be harder to show them the truth.
as for the original post, i have three kids - 10 y.o. (b0y), 7 (boy), and almost 6 (girl). we are naked at home with my wifey, their mother. we go to nude beaches and an occasional nude resort. we all pretty much sleep naked. its very natural and refreshing to turn off society's pressure in our own home. i hope you find the same peace with your family, p.m. me if i can assist further.

David,
We are on the same page. By "teaching", I meant any kind of influence from society.
If all the negative teaching kids had was some boring Ben Stein guy, saying, "Nude equals Bad, Sex equals Bad, therefore Nude equals Sex". Chances are that most of the kids wouldn't remember the "formula" and most of those who did would not believe it anyway.
Alas, society's influence is much more subtle...
I actually do remember when body shame crept into my childish mind. The kids in the neighborhood were all saying that nudity was for babies. Big guys kept their pants on! This all happened years before I had a clue what sex was.

WE only became nudist about 3 years ago. We have got 3 kids still living at home and two moved out so far. 21b 20g 16g 15g 12b all of our kids took to it very well. we sat down and had a talk with them and told them all about what we had learned and what we're still learning about nudism. Our kids go to the resort with us and also injoy being here the same.
