Georgia Nudist Resorts

Hey Gord! Hope you found this. I invite you and anyone else who reads this to post a quick review of the Georgia resorts you have been to and why you like them.

I'll offer my views on Georgia Resorts:
I have been to Serendipity, Mountain Creek Grove and Paradise Valley.

Paradise Valley is a little bit closer to home,
I am single and there are single females there and the gender balance rule gives me a fair chance to socialize with the single gals. I love camping and hiking and some of these resort gals are just into swimming and working on their tans, so there isn't always a guaranteed match for me.
I love volleyball. I'm not tall nor particularly good at it, but I still love it. Paradise Valley and Serendipity both have plenty of v-ball opportunities, but Serendipity has the added fun of water volleyball.
Paradise Valley has lots of land to walk around and enjoy. Paradise Valley is not unfriendly, but it is a big place and harder to make friends unless you break the ice by getting into a v-ball game. Paradise Valley was taken over by Paradise Lakes Resort and that is not good. P. Lakes appeals to a wilder crowd and has a lingerie shop, riske events and looks the other way at discreet swinging, definitely not a place to take the kids. P. Valley in Georgia is still more conservative, but may change with new management.

Mountain Creek Grove - I went to AANR East convention there and never could find any takers on games. They have an outdoor stage and offer entertainers (nothing off-color) at night. That finally livened things up. I have heard that they tend to have more retirees. Folks were friendly, but overall it was a very quiet place.

Bell Acres Resort - I have no firsthand experience. They are easy to reach from NE Atlanta, just go up I-85 and turn north on US441 to the vicinity of Maysville. I heard that they have a nice nature trail and that it is a nice place. If you can add more, good or bad, please fill me in.

Serendipity - I love that place! I like the way they work real hard to attract kids. They are also singles-friendly. They are very friendly and it is small enough that you will meet lots of people. I don't like the nightlife. I am not into their dances or potlucks, mostly an older crowd. There are one or two younger guys who are a little too bawdy and drink a little too much, but nothing extreme. They are strongly anti-swinger there, but it is possible that a few do it offsite at night. They have a few nice tent sites. Cabins are a little pricey for what you get. Saturday is the fun day and most young folks come up for the day and are gone by late afternoon. I hear the grill has a new cook, but I would rather pack my own picnic than eat that fried stuff. Sunday is more laid back, but still friendly. Serendipity's pool is unheated, so swim season is short. Mountain Creek Grove puts a portable plastic dome over their pool to extend the swim season. But as it gets cooler there is still sand volleyball, the gym and sauna. Too bad they don't have steam, but you can't have it all. Drive time to Serendipity is a good bit longer than Paradise Valley, but it is worth the extra miles to go where I feel most welcome.

Gord, I love lakes and I think Georgia needs one more nudist resort with a lake for fishing, swimming and paddling around. Throw in a sandy beach, add a dock and a water slide and you've got it all.

It is not nudist, but Hostel in the Forest near Brunswick has a clothing optional sweat lodge on the night of every full moon. Sounds like a great thing to do in autumn when it begins to cool down.

It's not in Georgia, but Hidden River nudist campground is just south of Georgia on the Suwanee River. I have been wanting to camp there for quite some time.

Trailscout: Thanks for the reviews. I agree with you totally on Serendipity. They're very friendly there and when I call ahead of time, I'm often asked "Where you've been?" The water volleyball I love, too. Everyone has a blast, and I could play it all day. It's just over an hour's drive for me, but that's nothing to those who come from Alabama or North Carolina. That's dedication! I also like being able to work out nude at Serendipity. The creek and hike to it I like, too. So there is something for everyone.
Paradise Valley is very cliqueish and unless you're playing volleyball, I find they keep to themselves. I, too, am a single guy, and usually do most socializing when I'm there for the Fig Leaf runs. Maybe one of these years I'll meet a woman to share this interest with.
Bell Acres I haven't been two for a couple of years, but the last time I was, there was just the pool and little else. It was on the rustic side compared to the others. They were very friendly there, too. I have not been to Mountain Creek Grove. I always turn left into Serendipity's entrance instead of right into MCG! In fact, I'm taking tomorrow off, and will be at Serendipity sometime this weekend. I'd stay overnight--I never want to come home when I'm there--but those cabins, as you say, are pricey.

Hey guys. Atlanta naturist here too. Have only been to Paradise Valley so far but I love it there. I play a lot of volleyball so I unsually spend all my time out on the sand courts. Have tried to meet some people to talk to at the pool but that can be a challange. Is easier for me getting to know the volleyball crowd.

They are having another Fig Leaf run coming up this fall too. That should be fun.

Paradise Lakes does not have a "lingerie shop". It is a store that sells nudist style clothes, beach towels, sandals and jewelry and a small amount of lingerie. Do you also call Wal Mart a lingerie shop?

And as for Pardise Valley, it has had a reputation as a swingers club for very many years before it was bought by Joe Lettlier.

I feel very compelled to congratulate you on your above statement of, "--but I would rather pack my own picnic than eat that fried stuff".
You undoubtedly are following the greatly publicised medical advice that, except for infants needing fats in their diet, we all should avoid fried foods and fats to maintain healthy arteries. After personally seeing relatives and other persons who have suffered and died from heart disease from clogged heart arteries, I have avoided fats for many, many years and it has paid off, and I feel that your wisdom in your youth will pay off for you. Keep up the good work. I am really impressed with your stated method of avoiding the fats in your diet, and, congratulations.

trailscout, that was about the best post i have ever seen from you. not only was it thoughtfully written, but i think everyone would have to look really hard in your words to get offended. BRAVO!!!

but i'm still upset with you, why didn't you post that post several weeks ago? i just got back from a week at blood mountain cabins (north georgia) and the atlanta area and we missed a bunch of nude resort opportunities. boy was that silly on my part. now that i have printed this post, i can plan another relaxing vacation in the mountains and maybe visit a resort or two while i am there.

There seems to be quite a few Georgians on this site, me included. I live in Northwest Georgia. Perhaps we could get together for a day hike before it gets too cool.

I have also met a couple of nudists in Atlanta, one of whom has a heated pool.

Here's an update on Georgia Resorts:

Paradise Valley is a big place and has a diverse patronage. For a long time it had a Sunday morning worship service, led by Pastor Gary. There are many good people who go there regularly who are not into swinging or wild behavior at all. They tend to visit during the day and many are blissfully unaware of the wilder element. There are policies against open sexual solicitation, so it tends to be low-key and away from the main center of activity.

Paradise Valley is not very open to single males going stag and they don't do much to welcome children. They do have singles functions and if you call early enough in the week to request a weekend slot, a single unescorted male can often get in.

If you want to enjoy an afternoon of volleyball or participate in their Figleaf 5K, it will create no moral dilemma for even the most conservative nudist.

Mountain Creek Grove is now an adult-only resort, openly welcoming alternate lifestyle (swinger) guests. They no longer have AANR affiliation as a result.

Bell Acres Resort - I still have no firsthand experience, but I continue to hear bits and pieces from friends that they are small and rustic, real laid back.

Serendipity remains a great family park that welcomes singles. The younger crowds are primarily there on Saturdays in Summer, but on any weekend you will find a few teens and children.

The crowd is generally middle-aged at their evening cookouts, but it is a great way to meet the permanent residents and the leadership of the resort. Younger visitors may want to stick around for a few of these dinners in order to better participate in the life of the resort.

There is a new open-air pavilion with 4 or 5 gas grills for dining al fresco. I hate cigarette smoke and had avoided dinners in the dining hall for that reason. On Saturday evenings, unless there is a special event, they generally have steak cookouts. You can bring your own steak (or whatever you want to grill) for them to cook. If you didn't bring one, they often have enough steaks to go around, so you can pay a few bucks and they will cook one of their extra ones for you. It is helpful to bring a side dish from home to go with the steaks.

Serendipity's pool is unheated, but swim season is now extended by means of an insulated cover they use after 6:00 p.m. The pool was 86 degrees last Saturday, so the cover seems to be doing its job.

Serendipity has two new Petanque courts. You can get balls from the resort staff, but it doesn't hurt to bring your own. There is not much volleyball action after Labor Day, but the Petanque games are popular with all ages. Some of the kids also enjoy shooting hoops near the Petanque court.

Last time I checked, Paradise Lakes did not allow water volleyball, only sand, citing safety reasons.

Serendipity has lots of summer volleyball, both on the sand court and in the water and no one gets hurt.
