Wondering where to go in Wisconsin. A few of us discussed going to a nude beach, resort, or campground this summer. Anyone been to any in Wisconsin. We want it to be somewhere we can feel comfortable being the first time and not end up in some dump. Any favorite spots?

Hi I to am from Central Wisconsin. New to the concept of social nudity. Check the internet there are two resorts in Wisconsin and more in the twin city area. One in cental WI and one south east of Madison. Both are only open during the warm weather. Central WI one is a clothing optional resort the madison one sounds like you are expecter to be nude. Of course there is always our nude beach in Mazomanie near Madison. I would like to find someplace around that would have activities during the winter? Anxious to get started.

I am from the Twin Cities area in eastern Minnesota. I know that there is Aurora Gardens, or something like that in the Eau Claire area. I read about this place in the Saint Paul Pioneer Press. They did an article on naturism, and that is what got me more involved in the Naturist Lifestyle and social nudity. I believe you can read the article in the archives on the net. Just type in pioneerplanet.com, and it will get you to the website. I am not sure how the search engine works, but, give it a try. I have not been to the place, but I have talked to some people who have been. I am a new member of Minnesota Naturists, and one of the people there told me about it at one of our swim nights. If you want, I can check with them again and see if I can get any information on Aurora Gardens.

It would be nice to have something to do in WI in the cold months but not many places would close to the public for a "private party" too bad it could be nice. May bring more people if the word spreads about a possiblity of something going on?
I have checked out Aurora Gardens web site... looks good on the pics and sounds good but being there could be a good or bad story. Would like to hear more about it from some one that has been there. Would really like to go if it is a good place to be and have a few friends that may go... five to six people maybe if they are really interested. Saying they will go and doing it is two differnt stories.

It takes time and effort, but establishing a non-landed group or club can work to set up wintertime nude activities.
In San Diego, the non-landed club "Naturally California" has monthly swim events at a local fitness center (scheduled as a private party), and have been well attended. Perhaps you could look at their approach and do something similar in your area. Their web site is: http://www.naturallyca.com/

I to am new to social nudity, but have not found much in the way of places to go here in WI. Mostly warm weather venues as referenced earlier. Will keep searching....

No places at all in northern WI that I have found. They all seem to be in the southern part of the state. Guess it is too cold for us northerners to spend any time nude. lol

I'm just across the river from Wisconsin in Red Wing, Minnesota, and am taking matters into my own hand. We built a sauna a couple years ago and invite open minded friends to join us for a sauna. Some decline. Some willingly disrobe and join in. Some wrap themselves in a towel. I always sauna nude, though I don't always join our guests. Many of the people who are uncomfortable exposing their own bodies are fine with my being nude around them. It's allowed me to better understand which friends are comfortable with nudity and which are not. This is not the only thing I've done to help identify friends who are open to nudity, but an example.
I will be taking it to another level March 7, 2003, when I host a clothing optional sauna and games party, to which I am not only inviting members of Minnesota Naturists, but also several nearby friends. I'd love to find others in the area who enjoy nudity and this is one way to get the ball rolling. I'd love to hear from any of you west central Wisconsin folks.
Before long it will warm up enough to look for nude hiking opportunities. Keep looking for like-minded people around you. We have to create our own opportunities.
Also, though I've never been there, I know people who have visited Aurora Gardens, near Eau Claire and give it a good review. Mazo beach on the Wisconsin River is also an outstanding upper-midwest summer resource.
