I frequently travel to New York on business, and have never found a (public) pool which has nude or CO sessions, which are quite common in France and other European countries. Can anyone out there tell me if such things exist in the US?

Tri State Sun Club has nude indoor swim/socials once a month on Saturdays in winter and spring in Paramus New Jersey, a few miles west of Manhattan, NY.
You may be required to join the club, but it is inexpensive and well worth it.
Here's a direct link to information on the events:

I, personally, have not heard of any public pools in the USA offering nude or C/O sessions to the general public.
Some pools (but not many) can be rented by private nudist clubs occasionally.

For everyone's information, there are numerous nudist clubs around the US that sponsor nude swims at otherwise public pools primarily during the winter months. I checked with a friend in NYC and he does not know of any in NYC itself. The advice previously given about the Tri-State club was good. There is also a club out on Long Island that hosts a swim monthly (at least) in Freeport. The sponsors of nude swims are not hard to find. Getting yourself invited may be a little more difficult. I was fortunate to be invited to one in Hartford CT last March. But I had been e-mailing one of their members for a few months. I'm certain that I would be welcomed back. Couples are certainly more eagerly welcomed by most clubs.
You might be surprised to find that nude swims are held at YMCA pools and even town pools. While not highly publicized, they are tolerated well.
Have fun!

Burntbuns,
We need to define our terms;
DEFINITION;
1) Public owned pools - owned usually by a government body, and serves the public.
I don't think that you have heard of any publicly owned pool in the USA that sets aside admission times for individuals for nude and/or clothing-optional swims. I think that in France they do, however, (See web site list, below) and I understand that the government uses it's public advertisement twice a year, promoting naturism.
(I have heard of only one government owned pool, in Michigan I believe, that rents their pool out to a private club for nude swims).
2) Privately owned pools - pools that are owned by an individual or group of individuals and can serve some members, or at least some of the public.
These are the pools that are rented by nudist clubs throughout the nation, and to which you refer.
However, most privately owned pools will not rent to nudists, as we have found this out by bitter experience in our region.
The following web site tells about swimming pools in France where one can swim nude;

Rent a car and go to Sandy Hook in New Jersey. You can also take a ferry from Manhattan to Sandy Hook although I don't know the details. If you have a car and time you can also drive to Long Island's Fire Island Lighthouse Beach. Both Lighthouse and Sandy Hook are great beaches, very crowded.

Gee, you learn something new every day! In my youth, during the 50es, I frequently swam in the nude at my home town YMCA in Maine. I was of the understanding that the "Y" had discontinued this practice in the late 70 or earily 80es. I guess the thing to do is call your local YMCA to see what their current policy is.
Thanks, Sawdust

I, too, swam in the nude at the YMCAs in the 50ties and earlier. In the 50ties I also took a lifeguard course in the nude at the YMCA and then was a lifeguard at the YMCA in the nude. In th 60ties they changed the very many YMCAs of our greater urban area (of over two million persons) to what is now called "Family Ys" for boys, girls, women and men, so the nude swimming was abolished for everyone. The males and females swim together but are clothed, of course, given our present society mores. Incidentally, I still swim laps at the Y three times a week and am very greatful for the Y for all these years.
If you can find some isolated example where a YMCA in the nation has not changed over to a "Family Y", I would be interested in knowing about it "to broaden my education". I could not find any on the web, as they seem all to serve both genders of the family.
Knowing California's more liberal views on some things, I would not be too terribly surprised if the Board of Directors of some particular Y voted to let a nudist club rent their facilities.
This would be "impossible" in our area, as I was told by our Y employee who knows the score.
Southern California is the most populated part of the state, so here is the web page for the Ys there, which may show you that they are "Family Ys" serving both genders and you can check as to whether they have nude swimming and I feel certain that you will find that they no longer have nude swimming.

You will see on the above web site that there is an inquiry form. I completed it asking of the office of Orange County (California) Y whether or not there is ANY nude swimming at any of their Ys. I will let you know the reply I receive.
