Why do men wear pants? Does anyone know how it started? Did it go straight from fig leaf, animal skin and then pants? I don't know the answer and maybe I will never know it or maybe I will.

Why do men wear pants? I am not looking for the answer that men wear pants to cover their genitals. My question is more like why pants and not skirts or kilts or others.

Yes, Scottish people wear kilts and I think that's the way supposed to be - and no underwear. I just read from wiki-answer:
It is traditional that Scottish military regiments wore no underwear beneath the kilt and were routinely inspected by walking over a glass panel under which an officer looked to see that each man complied. Other regiments used a mirror on the end of a stick to obtain the same result.

As a kilt, made of 16 or 18 oz woolen cloth is quite heavy, in winter the upper legs are quite warm, so no underwear is really necessary, while in summer, being well ventilated, likewise there is no need.

I second that.
Some other cultures wear kimono or sarong or robes or anything.

Why do men wear pants? Is it about masculinity? Are men who wear kilts or kimono or sarong or others less masculine than the ones who wear pants? Or: Are men who wear pants more masculine than others who don't? Why do we choose pants? Is it a cultural thing? Or is it a global trend?

Anatomically, the shapes of the pants do not follow exactly the form of male bodies. Males have penis and balls. Sometimes they do not know what to do with them when wearing tight pants. Should it be on the left or right side? Women wear bra. Should men wear cups under their pants? Why do we pretend as there is nothing down there when we wear shorts or pants or even swimsuit? The football players acknowledge it by wearing cups.

When I grew up, some of my friends jokingly guessed about who was left or right. It sounds funny but it is true. We didn't know where to put our winnies when wearing shorts or pants. Check yourself: Are you left or right or middle? And then see if you are left handed or right handed.

Most women now wear pants for practicality: no need to shave legs, cold weather and look "more formal". But women started with skirts and men with pants. Is it true? Why do men choose pants?

Why do men wear pants?

Je ne sais pas la réponse et peut-être je ne le saurai jamais.
