I found the interesting topic "How has your nudity developed" and thought it would be interesting to post about partners nudity. More than ten years ago my wife actuality encouraged me to skinny dip, my nudity developed from that encouragement. She is not a prude but she is not a nudist and never will be. I like to be nude at EVERY opportunity but she often perceives problems, embarrassment, not wanting to be with nude people she does not know, the burning sun, the insects etc etc. She enjoys skinny dipping here on our farm and in summer walk nude around the farm at night, occasionally with friends. She does not mind me being nude at any time, summer, winter, in the house or out of it. She enjoys nudity but has sensitive skin and cannot go nude outside for long and then only if she is well covered with sun tan lotion. All the mozzies and insects seem to be attracted to her so she needs to cover up a lot.

We have been away to nudist beaches and lakes and she is not worried about being nude with others. A couple of years ago we went to a nude village in the Canary Islands - Lanzarote, I enjoyed it very much but she was not so keen. We have visited a few nudist caravan parks in NSW Australia BUT she does not like to socialize with nude people she does not know. I enjoyed it very much. As time has gone by I realise it is unlikely that we will again be going to nudist resorts. We will occasionally go to nudist beaches or be nude in isolated swimming places.

My only hope is to try and encourage more friends to be nude with us at home on our farm. That way i can enjoy social nudity and she will be comfortable with it.

My wife tolerates my nudity and even swims nude in our pool. So far, that is the limit of her activity. We have been to nude beaches but she stays dressed, but since we have moved to a much warmer climate, perhaps things will change.

AT first my wife thought that I was "up to something" when I started hanging out nude at the house. Like most people she thought that i wanted to start swinging or that it was something sexual, she even asked me once; when you walk around nude are you hoping that I will perform sexual acts on you? I had to explain why I like to be nude and that I was indeed not "up to anything" but rather that I feel more comfortable that way. Since then she is accepting of my desires and she has joined me in sunbathing nude in our private back yard, attending a nude beach while on a cruise in the Carribean, and occasionally will hang out naked at the house. She understands and accepts that I enjoy being nude and is willing to join me in private but has no desire to be naked with me in a group setting under no circumstances. Like many areas of a relationship, being a nudist is one area that needs to be openly discussed and both partners need to come to an understanding of the boundries and limitations that will be acceptable to both parties.

Something I hear time and time again relating to nudist spouses is: "Well...she actually tried and enjoyed nudism 10 years ago...but that was it..." I think what happens is that as a wife has a child(ren), puts on a little weight, socializes with other Moms, finds new interests...nudism becomes, well, a pain in the neck. My X took nudism to a level that most wives don't; she went nude at the resort and at friends' homes, socialized with nudists and participated in group activities - and actually enjoyed it, and even once "converted" a reluctant wife. Yet, when nudism no longer fit her idea of recreational activity, she dropped out without even blinking.
So I think that for (not all but) many wives, nudism is merely a quirky fad. Except that a lot of times, it isn't for the husband.

My wife has not had any problem with my nudity. At first she thought it was odd, I am very conservative, besides being a pastor. I usually go to Deer park or Olive Dell
alone, but during the past year we have gone to LWS every other month, day visits or overnight. She does wear a bikini. This last time she went topless. I believe her way of thinking has been changing. Our son was watching a documentary where nude beaches/resorts was mentioned, and she chimed in, "There are a lot of places that nudity is acceptable, and it is normal, not a crime". There is hope for nudity in her future, she is even thinking of going to a nude beach!

My wife & I were married some 12 years ago & she was never embarassed or ashamed about her nudity amoung other nudists. She has taken to it like a duck to water.Just recently we returned from a trip to Florida and spent days nude on Haulover Beach. She enjoyed it as much as I did. I have been a nudist for about 22 years & love the lifestyle !

My wife thought I "lost it" when I decided to become a nudist about 9 years ago. Since that time, she has found some friends on this site that she still converses to on Facebook regularly. She invited a nudist from OK several years ago (Shaybare) and he stayed for about a week. We all went to visit Corky and the rest of the CF staff at the time. We have been to nude beaches several times, but she will not go around nude in the house when others are here (her Mother lives with us now). She will still go skinny dipping on some occasions, but not too often, especially when everyone is away and her Mother is resting. But again, she will not be nude in the house outside of the bedroom. She accepts my nudity as I practice it almost everyday. She even accepts my cover, which she made for me, of a very light cotton material which is almost transparent depending on the light. My leg is exposed all the way to the waist, so there's no hiding the fact there is nothing on underneath. The Mother in Law also made comments of the covering, but nothing negative. On Sunday's, that is my 'naked day'. I usually don't bother wearing anything all day, whenever possible. Again, she will not join me. But she does accept my nudity as long as I'm covered in front of her Mom and of course, in front of company who might come over.

Interesting. Is your MIL's presence the sole factor that prevents your wife from being nude at home? Or would she not be nude at home regardless?

We have a Son living here as well as raising a Grandson, so the answer would be no, unless it's very hot outside and nobody is in the house. Even then, there is a very slight chance she will participate being openly nude outside of the bedroom. As I stated, she will skinny dip at times, just not as much as I do, which is everytime I'm in the pool. Everyone knows when I'm in the pool, I don't have a swim suit on.

Just some words of encouragement. I ventured into naturism about 6 years ago and my very conservative wife was very concerned and very reluctant. Since then, through lots of patience, love and building trust, she has visited several resorts in the US and Europe, been to at least a dozen c/o beaches, run in a BBFR, been nude with our adult children, been freehiking with me and 2 of our children (adults) and now sleeps nude (thanks to menopause). She still doesn't consider herself a "nudist" but joins me because she loves me and has seen the benefit for our family and our relationship. I love her very much.

While my wife is accepting and tolerant of my practice of nudism, she has only displayed sporadic and isolated participation. She will spend a limited amount of time around our house in the buff, usually only if the eventual result in our being amorous later on. However, she has stepped outside the boundaries on very specific situations. Two years back, we were at a cabin for the weekend where I was nude most of the time we were there. It was only on Sunday afternoon before we had to pack up to come home that she spent almost 4 hours nude, sitting out on a fairly secluded deck, doing a stitchery. A few weeks later, we were renting a beach house in OBX and had a screened in porch that had concealing drapes. I had them all drawn, and she came out and actually repositioned a few select to allow a view but still kept us hidden. A year later again in OBX (Outer Banks of North Carolina), we had a hot tub and a secluded upper deck of the house. She needed no encouragement from me and stripped off her suit and later sunbathed nude for several hours. She will come out and sit on our raised deck of our house after dark in the summer. But she steadfastly refuses to just spend a day around the house inside au naturel. And going to a nudist resort is totally out of the question.

She seemed to be accepting of the experience only when she senses I need an emotional boost, like a treat to lift my spirits. She was a bit more enthusiastic if you could term it that a few years back, but she has taken a more restrictive stance lately. And we are empty nesters. Little or no chance of being "interrupted".

I have been a nudist for my whole life. She has not. When we first met she learned quickly that comming over to visit would find me nude. After the first week she would be also, if it was warm enough. The first nude beach I took her to was a concern to her. She thought she would be the only woman there. As we entered she saw other ladies. She was nude befor I could put the towels down. She now hates wearing a bathing suit, the way they cut into the back of the neck. Where we go now greatly depends on our ability to be nude. She has planned several nude trips and surprised me with them. When it is warm here she joins me nude. And like me, if you are comming to visit and you and expect me/us to have clothes on you need to call first, and then it is still not a sure thing.
I have a number of lady friends from when I was single, friends not lovers, that would come over to my home to be nude. Their home or yard would not allow them the comfort level they wanted. I also think it was a safety thing. I think the wanted a guy around for security. There was one lady who would visit often to sunbath on my deck, sometimes she brought her husband and he would not get naked. But that's OK. There are some lady friends of our who sunbath or excersize with us nude, there are others who will go topless and still others that will only go bottomless. Those who do this often are in only a bra or only panties. Since we no longer have access to a pool swim wear is not worn. It was never, ever, about sex, it was and still is a safe place to be nude. I think a spouse or friends, male or female, just need to feel they are safe and the location and others present meet their comfort level.

This last weekend turned out to be something special. My son was at PK/MK camp, about a 2 1/2 hour drive from home. Over the past few years I have stayed at a nudist resort about 25 minutes from the camp to save on gas and wear/tear on the car. This year my wife wanted to go with me. She has been topless at a clothing optional resort we visit in Palm Springs, but has not traveled with me to any of the other local resorts.

We arrived late Friday evening and stayed in the cabin, the temp was very cool. On Saturday we went hiking (clothed) and returned to the resort. The showers are very open and communal, this made her somewhat apprehensive, and she asked that I stand at the door. I was just outside talking with the maintenance man when she said the shower wasn't working. She walked out, to my surprise, nude and introduced herself to the maintenance man. We walked her back and turned the shower on for her. This was a huge breakthrough for her. We spent the day walking around the resort, lounging at the pool, having lunch in the picnic area. We even went for a nude drive. On Sunday, we spent time at the pool, no one else came out till after 11:00. We finished our stay with nude tennis, showers, and good-byes to the people we met. All this made for a wonderful weekend!
