Hero ain't nothin' but a soul

My ole man's creepin up about 83.
In all the time I've known him, he's never talked about how he lost his hearing in his right ear.
Up until a surgery to rekick the ticker coming up shortlty, he told me about the "silent service"
Lost his hearing on that ear because of a depth charge and consequential fungus infestation at 18 years old.
that's all I can say but I know we owe a debt.
