So, let this be a lesson to all you good citizens out there:

Keep paying those high interest rates. Otherwise, the terrorists will have won. Debt: it's the American© Way™.

Maybe it's because he was from Texas. I've heard there are some unsavory sorts moving from there to the east coast over the last few years.

I paid more than that on a credit card when I sold my house with no problem.

I'm thinking there had to be another reason, if it's true at all.

Yeah right. And we sent of the most unsavory of the lot to Washington D.C., adry-drunk, sociopathic, draft-dodging little punk---oh wait, nevermind..he's a yankee carpet bagging in Texas.

And of course, it has to those people's fault, it couldn't be the government out of control, now could it?

According to some local police that I have talked to recently, there are terrorist alerts attached to some peoples names and some other info as well.

I person I know was involved in a minor accident when he found that an alert was attached to his name.

Ther are triggers out there, but I do not think that paying a credit card is one of them. It could have been his bank account, his name, maybe SS# or any combo thereof.

The last time Mary and I bought a new car, we made a very large cash (check) down payment. There were tracers applied to the check. Our banker explained this was part on the 'war' on drugs. (The 'war' on terror hadn't been thought of back then.)

How is it every time the politians come up with a new "war on", it's really a war on our freedoms?

Where do you get your information? That's almost(?) insulting.

                    Shay,

Why are you defending Texans? Anyone who survived the Dust Bowl days and is still in Oklahoma, is made out of tough stuff and can be criticized by no one.

A lot of the problem Texans are NOT really Texans. They are drifters we call "jack rabbits". They left the rust belt in the late 70's and worked on the oil wells around Midland. Then when oil prices went bust, those "Texas jackrabbits" came here and took construction jobs until the contractors discovered that illegals from Mexico would work just as hard for half the pay.

I don't know where the jackrabbits are today.

Back in the boom days in Houston we used to have a saying about yankees. Yankees are like hemorrhoids---once they come down, they never go away.

I was 20 before I learned that damn yankee was two words.

But that's all in the past. Now some of my best friends are yankees. I even have them in my home for dinner once in a while and shower with them at the club and all. They ain't all that bad, once you get to know them. But, I still don't care for their music.

I wouldn't want them living next door or have to be around them all the time though.

Happens to me all the time as a contractor. Feast or famine here. Live off the cards for months, then pay large amounts or in full. Go figure.
