  • Nude Pictures

Just finished reading a piece on a study conducted on how males and females view nude photos.

As you might have expected, males and females view nude photos differently.

What is a stunning surprise is that males look at the face(s) first before looking at the rest of the body of the photo's subjects ... now who would have thought that! (actually, I would have, as that is what I do, but stereotypes are stereotypes after all).

What is the other surprise from the study is that females look at the rest of the body before looking at the face(s) of the photo's subjects.

Now, are you ready for the REAL SHOCKER?

The study timed the amount of time males and females viewed nude photos and the study found that female spend longer looking at nude photos than males do (even moreso when the photos depicted actual sexual acts, i.e., porn), so much for stereotypes.

If you want to read the piece you can go to LiveScience at their website and click to the piece dated April 12, 2007 under the Health/SciTech heading.
(I will provide the direct URL via PM as the website discusses all matter of science, including biology and sex --- sorry no pictures --- and I am not sure a direct link is allowed under the current TOS of these forums.)

Oh, and for the naysayers, the study used directional headpieces which recorded where the eyes were focused in the same manner that has been used to test where drivers eyes are focused when driving.

I've got a couple of hunches on this. First hunch, some of the females here will hand me my teeth. Second hunch, I'll bet there's research somewhere that will bear out what I'm about to write...

When a man and a woman walk into a room the men already in the room will check out the woman first, and the women already in the room will ALSO check out the woman first. Of course, they'll be looking with different perspectives.

And second, I suspect that women either know or sense this, and dress more for the impression they will make on other women, much, much more than they do for men..."honey, does this make my butt look big?" has nothing to do with men, but has everything to do with what other women will think.

Which is exactly why we should all go naked all the time!

I think men do the exact same thing at the gym when they begin to see their workouts are paying off. Straight and gay, they're dressing to show off buffed bodies to the other men there. It's all competition! [But this thread has gotten me thinking that maybe women who are also working out at the gym are checking out guys more than what initially appears...!]

[/QUOTE]....so women take their time and "Gather" all the info in the photos...and men just quickly move on and "Hunt" for more info...( * in touch with my inner caveman)

This is quite interesting nacktman. I was kind of thinking the same way you were as far as the stereotypes went. Quite a few shockers in there!
