I have nothing against someone who makes mistakes because they simply don't know how to spell words, that isn't really their fault, especially when English isn't their first language.

I do have a problem with people who are merely lazy and write messages with lots of abbreviations and no thought for punctuation, which makes them much more difficult to read.

Poor Spelling is the Mark of a Genius.

The above stament is undoutedly true. Cents ahm a noterous bad speler and a very brite guy with a gud brane it mus meen ahm a jeanyus.

    here is sum mur pruf.

Spell it the way it Sounds

Having chosen English as the preferred language in the EEC (now officially the European Union, or EU), the European Parliament has commissioned a feasibility study in ways of improving efficiency in communications between Government departments.

European officials have often pointed out that English spelling is unnecessaryly difficult; for example: cough, plough, rough, through and thorough. What is clearly needed is a phased programme of changes to iron out these anomalies.

The programme would, of course, be administered by a committee staff at top level by participating nations. In the first year, for example, the committee would suggest using 's' instead of the soft 'c'. Sertainly, sivil servants in all sities would resieve this news with joy. Then the hard 'c' could be replaced by 'k' sinse both letters are pronounsed alike. Not only would this klear up konfusion in the minds of klerikal workers, but typewriters kould be made with one less letter.

There would be growing enthusiasm when in the sekond year, it was anounsed that the troublesome 'ph' would henseforth be written 'f'. This would make words like 'fotograf' twenty persent shorter in print. In the third year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible. Governments would enkourage the removal of double letters which have always been a deterent to akurate speling. We would al agre that the horible mes of silent 'e's in the languag is disgrasful. Therefor we kould drop thes and kontinu to read and writ as though nothing had hapend. By this tim it would be four years sins the skem began and peopl would be reseptive to steps sutsh as replasing 'th' by 'z'. Perhaps zen ze funktion of 'w' kould be taken on by 'v', vitsh is, after al, half a 'w'. Shortly after zis, ze unesesary 'o' kould be dropd from words kontaining 'ou'. Similar arguments vud of kors be aplid to ozer kombinations of leters.

Kontinuing zis proses yer after yer, ve vud eventuli hav a reli sensibl riten styl. After tventi yers zer vud be no mor trubls, difikultis and evrivun vud fin it ezi tu understand ech ozer. Ze drems of the guvermnt vud finali hav kum tru.

C thet guy's a jeanyus tew. A very smart feller.

Beyon thet, i think pepol who rag about spellin stuff and direct mail and telemarketers and newspaper delivery times just have tew much time on their hands and should get a puppy or hobby or go fishin' or sumthin. yew know.

This topic/thread has not much to do with nude recreation so it’s being moved to open conversation category.

This topic is too stupid to respond to. Who really cares about spelling, besides an english teacher who is going to grade your paper?

It's true that the odd typo can escape just about any of us, and we have to tolerate people who aren't using their native language. But then what does "Ethan" expect people to think about him in this thread?

As far as I'm concerned his stuff is just too annoying to bother with. Maybe he has something to say, but if he won't take any trouble with it, why should the rest of us?

Zevei, before condemning others, it would be helpful to understand our community.

First, yes one should proofread what they are about to post. Occasionally, however, everyone lets typos or misspellings get past them. It is not very polite to publicly take anyone to task lest you fail to perfect your own messages.

Second, this has nothing to do with religion; unless this is the Zen of message posting. I am, therefore, moving it to Misc.

Zevei, have you looked at what you wrote? The first comment is not even a sentence, and the second comment is a very poorly constructed and appointed sentence.

If you checked what you have wretten and make appropriate corrections prior to posting you yourself will appear more intelligent.

As is you are the pot calling the kettle black.
