  • America Does Not Want Alito!

The latest poll numbers show over 80% of the American people do not want Alito to be on the supreme court.

So, who is not in touch with reality here?

Certainly the neo-cons pushing for his appointment are in touch with reality right?

where did you get your polls from? The Kennedy and Palosi family picnic? All other polls show the EXACT OPPOSITE!!!

You are blatantly deceiving the members in here.

Now, now you neo-cons don't get your panties in a wad just because reality is not what you want to hear.

BTW the poll is from CNN and no poll shows anywhere close to even a quarter of Americans polled want Alito as a judge on the supreme court.

Accept it, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE DO NOT WANT HIM.

It's just Nacktman throwing bombs and trying to stir up controversy again. He's been warned about this kind of thing before by the moderators. Speaking from experience, if you are politically anywhere to the right of Che Guevara or care about rational, respectful discourse, DO NOT engage him. Just leave him alone.

Oh no! Say it ain't so! I'm just glad to see I'm not the only one who feels this way.

It's the open conversation forum. This kind of discussion is what it's for. By the way I'm another American who does not want Alito. If you are anti-choice, and Alito is viciously, you are unfit to be a judge, much less a Supreme court judge.

jon glad to see someone other than the neo-cons is responding.

It seems they do not like to face reality or confront any that will not play their game and let them continue to lie to the American public without speaking up.
It also appears that they are still up to their game of attacking any that dare to offer any differences apart from of the group think they subscribe to and then accusing others of their actions and then remaining silent when called for it.

Be sure to check out the poll and other articles disproving what the neo-cons are saying.

Abortion? Not a big deal. No matter who is confirmed Roe v. Wade is toast. 80% of the public supports choice, but Roe will be overturned. Then all hell will break loose and the tide will turn against the social conservatives.

This president is not going to nominate anyone who isn't anti-choice. Period.

But Alito is also a corporatist who always rules in favor of those with the most power. That is his record from 15 years on the bench. Big business always wins over the little guy. Government always wins over the individual. The executive branch is always supreme. Judge Alito has made a good show of suddenly opining that there are limits to executive power, but it isn't in his record. Judge Alito is a leading proponent of the Unitary Executive Theory, which is a repackaging of the Imperial Presidency. When George W. Bush says the Constition allows him to violate the 4th Amendment to the Constitution in order to wiretap Americans without warrent, or to torture prisoners even though he signed a law outlawing torture, or to hold US citizens in violation of habeas corpus, he is relying on Judge Alito's Unitary Executive Theory. Judge Alito spent most of Tuesday denying this. But then Judge Alito has a record of lying to Senators during confimation hearings.

Alito is crucial for GWB's third term.

I too, jon am another American that does not want Alito anywhere near a court as a judge much less on the Supreme Court.

Mark it was the republicans that made it illegal for one person to be president for more than two terms or 10 years total, weren't they?
I guess it's only fitting since they break the nation's laws as they see fit they would not hesitate to claim the democrats put limitations on presidential terms and throw them out.
