There is brief nudity in the trailer and some English is spoken. It will be one of the best French movie of this year.

Looks cool...I could pretty much surmise the plot (romantic comedies tend to be pretty easy to figure out, regardless of the language ).

I look forward to the subtitled DVD version. Dubbing only works for bad martial arts movies.

I am glad that you seem to like it.
I hope that others will see the trailer also.

About dubbing, I know that Americans generaly do not like it.

But most movies that are seen in the world are american movies dubbed in other languages. I saw the French dubbed version of The Titanic, and it was really great.

I think that it is because you are not used to see foreign movies dubbed in English.

I think also that it is cheaper to add subtitles to a movie than dubbed it in another language.

What makes you say this? A good trailer does not a good movie make. This one was barely average, and I couldn't see the humour that you seem to think was there. Sure, it may have some brief nudity, but that is entirely irrelevant to how entertaining it will be. It sounds to me like you are an industry insider - plugging the movie.

I think I'll wait for the real reviews, which I do look forward to.

I am not in the movies industry, and I am not trying to plug the movie.

However, this is the same producer as "l'auberge espagnole" with the same actors.

I do not even know if it will be released in the USA or English Canada. It is supposed to be played in Montreal soon.

I think that a trailer gives a good idea of a movie. Of course, if you do not speak French, I understand that you do not understand the jokes.

Well, that's ok, nobody is perfect...

It is possible that you never see other reviews of the movie because there are very few french movies that reach the english north american market. Even in Quebec, the choice of french movies is relatively limited.

Eric, I've seen both kinds of movies--dubbed and subtitled--and find that subtitled movies are better overall. It has to do with the matching of the words to the lip movement, matching the right voices to characters, and, most important to me, the feel of the scene as it was made. I can see the emotion matched with the dialogue as it was intended. The fact that I don't necessarily understand the words without reading the subtitles is secondary.

In "Walkabout", the lines of dialogue of the Aboriginal teen boy are not translated with good reason. You can both understand the predicament of the two lost children as well as being able to feel his emotions better.

A good trailer does not a good movie make.

So true, Pete. Trailers are made to get people's attention and get them to watch the movie as well as entertain them while they are waiting for the feature attraction.

Creating a good trailer is one of the most important parts of adcertising the movie. it is all about hype.

Great! Demand undubbed versions of foreign movies with English subtitles from their importers. And watch them! Many good movies are made in other parts of the world.

If you watch a movie at home from DVD, it should always have the original soundtrack; possible dubbing and subtitles are available as options.

Here in Finland dubbing is very rare, except of animated movies. Reading the subtitles of tv movies is a motivation factor for children to learn to read (another is reading comics), and to read fast enough.

Of course we see a lot of Hollywood movies, but also domestic productions and movies from around the world.

Definitely. The persons who perform the dubbed dialogue are professional actors who train their role and perform it with several takes to get the result good. Of course they must be paid well.

When I watch a movie (via TV, VHS or DVD) with a foreign language which I do not know but subtitles are provided, I like to keep the volumn turned up regardless, as the inflections of their voices communicates, too.

I won't watch movies that have what they're saying written at the bottom of the screen. There's no way I can watch and enjoy the movie when I have to watch the bottom of the screen and read what's being said.

As for dubbed in voices, at least I can watch the movie and understand what's being said even if it is a little strange to hear an American voice coming out of Japanese people.

For some of our movies (that are of the English language), I wish there were sub-titles provided, as I do not catch the "mumbled" words. Spoken words in scenes with a lot of background noise is difficult to understand, too.

Some British movies, portraying some persons, are difficult to understand the spoken word, (accent?) also.

All this talk about subtitles...get it on DVD and watch it whichever way you prefer in any combination.
