  • Snow in the White House

Do you think Mr. Snow is the right "man" for the job of Press Secretary in the White House?

I profess my ignorance! I read the Fox News website several times a day, but can't say I have a clue as to who Mr Snow might be or what view and expertise he brings to the job. Considering who appointed him, it probably isn't much.

I voted no, but my real answer is Hell yes! We've been being snowed for 5-years, now its time to acknowlege that what comes out the White House Press Office is a "Snow job".

That's kind of like asking who's the right person to do p.r. for the Titanic or the Hindenberg. Is there such a thing?

I have to admit I know very little about this Snow guy, except he had a job at Fox News, and bashed Bush a couple of times. He was mostly supportive of his new boss, but only went negative recently.

Because of his experience in the press, he can turn anything around and make it sound good or bad, no matter what it is.

As a Canadian, I don't feel qualified or informed enough to give an opinion or vote. I was somewhat concerned that someone from Fox News was being appointed to the position. But then again, an open "Snow job" may be better than subterfuge!

Will it really matter? I guess they are going toward their base, i.e. the Fox news connection but I doubt this will do anything. It may put a better spin on the news. Tailspin that is.

The media is over-hyping Tony Snow's so called "criticisms" of the administration - much to the delite of the administration. In practice Snow is a neo-con spinner who almost always sides with Bushies - he is Bill O'Reilly without the paranoia and Tourette's. - No loofa and a few extra marbles.

Of course any press secretary's job is to defend the administration before the press, but the real value of Tony Snow will be when he privately takes the president to task for his misdeeds. Snow was granted decision-making power. I think he will be very different from Scott McClellan.
