last saturday an article appered in the news paper saying that Oklahoma Rep. Ernest Istook is "donating" a total of $28,000 to the Boy Scouts of America. the money came to him from lobbyist Jack Abramhoff who is under federal investigation that includes two top aides of Texas Re. Tom DeLay. and now Istook is running for governor.
would he gotten rid of the money if it hadn't been tyed to Abramhoff? i dought it.
if he wins the governor race he will be in the same position as our last republican governor, Frank Keeting.
some money man was giving each of his "children"
$10,000 per year. someone got wind of that deal and he said he returned all of it.
is it any wonder why politicans leave office filthy rich, not including their retirement?
i don't have any idea what sen. J.C. Watts is worth. he left football at the University of Oklahoma to become a senitor. he tryed to show his power at the airport while in office. he was parked in a loading zone and left his car unattended, when he returned there was a ticket on the windshield. got in a disagreement with the police man and ask him, " don't you know who i am?" the officer said something to the affect like frankly i dont give a d**n.
aren't these the type of people we need in public office?
