Wow! Im happy to find such a chapter here.

Here are the first problem (yet I have consulted with plenty of extra class specialists at my place and seems there is only one solution - FORMAT C

Just came an automatic window from Windows company to upgrade Internet Explorer to class higher. I tried to press button - no, never in my life but miss and pressed yes do it immediately. With that all the problems started.

Just we are working here in 38 letter keyboard what gets its functionality by special Windows level driver changing a half of Windows files TILDE (I use Tilde-2005 over the Win-XP). Just everywhere special letters are reacheable but in Internet explorer them are shifted of another un-passing code table. Of course, the simple change of code tables in Explorer tools gives nothing. The change of input language the same, in control panel. The re-installation of Windows, Office, Tilde (repair) gives nothing. And that is clear because fu**** Bill Gates had not forseen the need for DOWNgrading his `holy sh**` programs.
Thus, I am paralysed to use a correct language in number of forums so must substitute it by a translit - what is just the bad taste. Could it be that really the only cure is Format C ??

Okay, Firefox/Opera as the alternatives but why to not work on the right program.

    Sample:
    I am pressing a and get ``
    Pressing e and get ``
    pressing g and get #
    pressing u and get k
    pressing s and get a
    pressing k and get 7
    pressing z and get ~
    pressing c and get ` `
    pressing n and get F
    and so on
I would be ready to kill Bill if I`ll get him due his authomatic upgrade "services".

    Happiness is no tan-lines.

      Johny,

I never experienced your exact problem, but did have a keyboard letter problem that would come and go that caused all keys to translate to different than you pushed. Usually this would happen on Yahoo IM window or when I was in MS Word. I would be typing and all of sudden the wrong letter would come up for all the keys not unlike you "pressing example" you show. I use a Microsoft office pro USB keyboard if I reset the computer it would reboot and the keys would come up good again till next time the same way. I thought maybe if was the keyboard chip inside the KB but tried a non USB KB manual 101 key KB. Same way once in a while wrong keys come up. Frustrating, as I would loose what I was doing and couldn't get the right keys to save and exit. It’s stopped doing that, but I changed a lot of things and had another problem. [Below] but never put my hand on what actually was causing that letter translation problem.

I had the boot sector of boot drive get corrupted. And its 4-5 years old Western Digital 7200RPM 8MB cache 120GB drive. So I took out, replaced with same new drive and now use the old drive as portable USB2 drive for archive or Back Up and still taking off files and folders. So I re-installed all the programs, verses copying the old drive. Time consuming but worked out cleaner, faster, and HD not cluttered with junk, temp, and not used registry or left over .dll files.

OK now for weirdest problem, Oh by the way sys I had problem with: Intel Mother Board 850 chip set 2 gig P4 Hyper task, DDR memory 1 GB. Win-XP Professional, MS Office Professional, IE-6, later IE7, Win Media player 11. It started not being able to send posts on some CFF Post anything to do with an image file, replies to some messages, and problems at other sites on click on hyper links. All of these resulted on screen red circle with diagonal line through it. I would to my HP laptop and it’s OK. Someone mentioned try holding down the shift key when I hit Enter Key. {That seems to get around the problem on most entries, but still frustrating.] Only happen using Internet Explorer. I uninstalled IE-7, Installed IE-6 Same problem. Used the sys using the shift key when the red circle came up allowing me to enter command. I decided to install Fire fox, and guess what the problem went away. I like fire fox, but slightly thinner fonts, but didn’t like favorites but seem a little faster than IE and it worked good. Used for a while.

I will have to look for the exact fix, but somewhere on line reading about problems with similar red error circle, on Microsoft Knowledge Base KB, and online I saw a article that Yahoo Instant Messenger Ver 8 was causing problems on some machines. It mentioned two DLL file delete. I reinstalled IE-7 as that’s what was acting up, I deleted those and this weird problem of the red circle and not being able to enter commands with the enter key on some images, CFF post [some] and some Hyper links on other sites.

So glad to get back to normal. This bugged me for months and each time had to switch over to my Laptop to complete some posts or replies.

So to sum it up the changing keyboard translation problem cause was never found, and it was not the keyboard. By resetting the computer it come back up again. Now today after drive change, hard drive change, re-install Win-XP It has not acted up for a long time.

I do not have those Yahoo dll files to delete but Yahoo worked ok after removing them, but BINGO my big problem with IE-6 or 7 error page IE at bottom, and red circle bad command was solved.

Johnny I just found a problem report and do have my problem fix I will post it next message as not to clutter this post any further. Hope any of the above tips help you get a hand on your problem.. Good Luck

        Johny,

The following Serious Microsoft Internet Explorer IE7 problem reported to Microsoft below could be of interest and impact to your described problem only on Internet Explorer, and to the rest of the forum experiencing various problems with Internet Explorer.

        __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ __________

SERIOUS MICROSOFT INTERNET EXPLORER IE7 PROBLEM – ABRUPT CLOSING, ERROR BOX UPON EXITING PROBLEM IDENTIFIED & SOLVED. I FOUND YAHOO MESSENGER VER 8.1 AT FAULT CAUSING THE PROBLEM. SOLUTION AND FIX BELOW:

        From: Gary --------, Application Engineer/Beta Tester, B A R T Systems, PO Box ......, Sacramento, CA

        To: Microsoft Corporation, >> .................., Facsimile # 425 936-7329 to: ---------------------------------------.

Subject: Error message box and abrupt closing of IE7 upon exiting, Back Arrow, or on its own on various
Web pages when you click do or do not send Error to Microsoft.

I have been plagued by sudden IE7 closures, error box and messages saying MS Explorer ran into a problem and must close; do you want to send an error message to Microsoft. By saying no or yes IE closes and you loose all form or page information you were on & must re-start IE7. I experienced the same sometimes on IE back arrow or on random web pages without doing anything. Each intended closure of IE7 results in the error box notice, and immediate exiting when selecting either yes send or don’t send the error report to Microsoft.

I’m running Microsoft Windows XP Professional, Version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519: Service Pack2), IE7 Ver. 7.0.5730.11, and Yahoo Messenger Version 8.1.0.209

I have run all sorts of virus, Trojan, worm, ad-ware, and anti-spy programs without avail and after hours and days finally found out what was causing my IE7 to be flakey, slow, and closing with error messages. YAHOO MESSENGER VERSION 8.1.0.209 WAS FOUND TO BE THE CULPURT re: Browser helper Object, Browser extensions, & the YahooTool Bar.

To solve the problem, Open IE7, go to Tools, to Manage Add-On’s, delete the following Yahoo Instant Messenger add-ons listed below [referenced to: yiesrvc.dll & yt.dll]

Yahoo IE services button Yahoo Inc. Type: Browser Helper Object re: yiesrvc.dll
Yahoo Services “ “ Browser Extensions re: yiesrvc.dll
Yahoo Toolbar “ Yahoo Tool Bar re: yt.dll
Yahoo Toolbar Helper “ Browser Helper Object re: yt.dll

I disabled the above add on’s, closed IE7 and upon re-launching IE7 all the erratic errors, closing, and IE7 problem reports to Microsoft ceased. IE7 become snappy again, steady and operated normally again.

With millions recently downloading and using IE7 and Yahoo Instant Messenger, I’m sure that everyone that is affected with this frustrating and dangerous loss of data and unexpected closure and error reporting of Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 will be relieved to know of this relationship, identity, cause, and fix to a bug that’s been driving me crazy for days.

Please disseminate the relation, identification, and solution of this problem by me as soon as possible and as widely as possible to Customer service, TechNet, MSDN, Knowledge Base, and Microsoft User Groups on and off line. I would appreciate feedback, and acknowledgement, of this problem and solution. I would like to participate in further application engineering, beta testing, and problem solution with Microsoft products.
        .
        .
. >>>>>> deleted Not related to this problem
        .

        Sincerely, Gary -----------

Thanks Garry, but this moment I have plagued by something more dreadful, so I can write only from work.My spyware doctor v4 indicated the virus CWS what are from those self-defending type as Look2mE STYLE. I downloaded the special killer be used from safe mode but it indicated that such virus unexists. Then I checked at my Avast, my Kaspersky, my Norman, Adaware, and Norton - noone see the virus but I see it in process registry consuming a huge resources, so it exists.
Normally I used SpyDoctor in demo mode where it shows the paths but not allows to kill it authomatically, so I just kill the viruses manually, one by one in HCK registry keys.
Yet this time it shown an path - "multiple paths" so I choosed to upgrade to version 5 for what I had a "cure". But I made wrong because I took that program from producer website what authomatically put in my computer "Temida" not allowing to use the keygen. Thus after even unistallation of all antiviruses and erasing all memories of all installed soft with such heavy artillery as TrialDoctor, this dumb Temida still resides somewhere. And it blokes ANYTHING. I cant write at Explorer anything, I cant operate many of my software (including payed and legal) and all the time this Temida lets out and squeeze me to pay that antivirus company for programs what I after such method of selling will better die not buy. So I am going to seek where to save the 200 Giga of movies and softwear and books, and I cant see the another exit as only ://Format C enter enter

            Johny,

Sounds as if you have a nasty one.

I have been with McAfee for many years and think their software is excllent and I have never been infected with viruses, worms, trojans, etc. Its always caught them, isolated , or deleted them before they impacted the systems, drives, registry etc. They are trying to screw me out of a $65 rebate, so I have left them and when with a free home use program called AVG. Ive heard good reviews and so far its much faster and the updates are more frequent.

Try this link and down load the free version:

Link to AVG virus software free for home use.

            AVG Download Page

            I believe is version 7.5.446

You havent got anything to loose by trying.

Hope you get rid of the virus or infection.

I used AVG before COMCAST offered me free McAfee. Both work great, IMO.
