  • St. Bart Anyone?

If you read my "Jamaica Anyone" post, you know that my fiance and I are looking at places in the Carribbean for our honeymoon. Well, it looks like St. Barts has bubbled to the top as a candidate.

I am interested in the nude beaches and resort areas. However, my fiance is more interested in the "touristy stuff" (shopping, tourist traps, etc.). We are both interested in finding a nice, safe, relatively inexpensive, place to snorkel, relax on a beach, do some shopping, and just enjoy each other's company for a week away from everything else.

So, has anyone been to St. Barts? How did you like it? Would you recommend it? Etc.

    Any information is greatly appreciated!!

You may also want to look into a hotel or even rental condo/house on Providenciales, Turks & Caicos.

It has without a doubt the most serene beaches and clear water of just about anywhere in the Caribbean. It's crime free, not touristy, only has a handful of resorts and hotels and best of all, miles and miles of empty beaches. You can rent a Jeep for the week and easily be at a secluded beach for the day within 15-20 minutes on Chalk Sound or the North West Point out off of Wheeland Road. There is minimal shopping and sight seeing, but spectacular snorkeling and peace and quiet. When on any of the deserted beaches...do whatever you want to do as you will not likely see another person all day.

If you rent a house, stay off of Grace Bay as it's the most populated. Look for something on the NW Point or Southern side of the island for seclusion.
