  • Cap D'agde Beach

Hi there i was wondering if anyone can help,is it possible to use the naturist beach facilities at cap d'agde without actually booking a full blown naturist holiday in the naturist quarter.I am planning to go with my partner who has never gone fully naked before and understandably she is not too keen on a complete naturist holiday but said she might not mind visiting the naturist beach. Is it possible to do this and how do we go about it,do we get a daily pass from naturist section.Any help much appreciated, thanks paolo.

Though we have never been, I asked this same question a while back and got several responses that stated you can visit Cap D'agde for the day.

Our good friends are currently in the south of France and are planning on visiting this naturist city for the day and send us a report.

So to answer your question, yes you can visit for the day.

I am confident that someone here will tell you how to go about getting the day pass or permit.

Fireprof is correct. Many local people go for the day the way you might go to any local beach. You buy a pass at the gate to the Naturist Quarter, drive in, and park on the street. If it happens to be a weekend day that you come, you should try to come early, because the parking is limited.

It's one of the best beach in the south of France with it's fine sand as opose to pebbles you see elwere. When we went, 12 years ago, the nudity was compulsery. That was fine by me, but it was my wife's first time and she did'nt like. They tell you when you by the ticket, you only find out when you get to the beach.
For me, it was a great experience, parking the car on the street, seeing people passing by naked on the sidewalk, undressing to do the same. It was quite a rush at the time. The only thing I did'nt like, it was too crowded(end of July), it was difficult to find a spot.
I will always remember that day and I still have my ticket.
        Enjoye

Lots of people go for the day, either go to the main gate and get a pass - it's very well signposted so not hard to find and there's a bus stop just there or come along the beach from the east - lots of people do that too - though its still a walk to the town area and beach.

The great thing about agde is that is an ordinary place where everyone goes naked - you don't have to think about it, just get up in the morning and not think about getting dressed - none of the long hikes to remote beaches that you get in some places. I think it would be just as easy for someone to go there as to a local swim

          good luck

Isn't this the actual name of a city in France as well as the resort? I have read quite a bit about it but have never been there.

I have an understanding that IS a city, just that city is divided into two parts - naked one, and dressed one; with a pay-barrier between both.

But I have another question - if one leaves the car outside the barrier, at dressed city, and goes in as pedestrian,- must he pay the same ticket as going into entrance within the car?? Do can anyone explain??

Just last time I evaluated a plans to visit this place I expected it is heavely too expensive for be reasonable. But if that is possible to put the tents at night somewhere 30 km afar, then it becomes attractive enough.

It is part of the city, it is not a resort. The apartments are mostly privatly owned, and you rent them through one of a number of agents. There is also a hotel, and a rather large camping area, stores, restaurants, etc, but they all seem to be privatly owned, like they would be in any town.

I do not know if the entry fee is also charged to pedestrians, but the fee that we paid to get the car in was really not that much. It seemed to be reasonable in exchange for use of the public services like beach maintanance, life guards, etc.

YES!!! You can definitely use the beach without staying in the naturism resort. You can buy a day pass and simply then use the naturism section and beach and facilities until about 8pm. You can also actually walk into the naturism area because it is directly connectd to the public clothed beach - although not ethical perhaps.
Lots more info on FAQ page of: cap D'agde naturist Resort site
