• 5-K at Turtle Lake

Does anyone else plan on going to the 5-K race at Turtle Lake Resort on June 5. I've ran it the last two years and had a great time. It starts about 10 AM and we then play volleyball in the afternoon.

I hope the weather is nice so we can have a good turnout.

I won't be running since I couldn't run even if I was being chased, but I will be outside my trailer watching them sweat. I will perhaps hand out cold water if they go by my trailer.

maybe if it was a .5k Since I haven't done any serious running since my military days (1988), thats about all I could handle without serious backlash

Of course you don't have to run. You can sign up to walk it if you want. Some people just come and watch. I think there were about 80 runners and walkers last year.

I MIGHT be able to handle running around the "block", which would be a few hundred feet, but I would be totally out of breath!

Lightmetal,

We're waiting to hear about your and your son's first social nude experience yesterday. I enjoyed meeting the two of you. I will say, folks, that he hated getting dressed and leaving, and his son (aged 10) wants to go again. I was pleased that the boy handled all the nudity very well. There where quite a few people there--including one particularly nice looking young lady. Hey! I'm not dead yet! It was in the mid to upper 70's, and the sun actually came out once in a while.

If everything works out right, the whole family will be there on Saturday. Don't know if we will participate in the walk/run
We had such a wonderful time during our first public nudity session that we want to come back
I was a little concerned about "what may come up", but there was no problem with that. I was also concerned that "Aluminum" (my 10 year old son) might get there and not want to "get nekkid", and be bored because he couldn't go swimming. When I first mentioned that I was going into the hot tub, his first reaction was "I think I'll wait. My tummy hurts". But as soon as we got back to the clubhouse and I walked into the locker room, he asked where to put his clothes, and stripped down faster than I did
He played in the pool, but since he can't swim too well, he wasn't able to get out and play water volleyball with the other kids. We'll have to work on that!
When at last I told him that it was time to go, the first thing out of his mouth was "when can we come back?"

"Aluminum"? What an interesting name! That wasn't the name you told me . I was glad to meet the two of you, and I hope you can get your wife to come, and anyone else who might be interested. I just hope the weather improves a little before then. I was in the walking part of the race two years ago and walked it in 46 minutes.

Since your boy seemed reluctant to get nude, I'm surprised he changed his mind so quickly, but I think he was just waiting on you to decide to get nude. Next time I'm sure he'll be out of his clothes in no time.

Hey, I had to get SOMETHING to go along with lightmetal The wife will most likely come with us, since we are just "going for a drive". I will pack her (gasp) "textile bathing suit", so she can work on a tan or something and doesn't want to get naked Hopefully she will see that it isn't about sex, and that no one cares what you look like on the outside. It's what's on the inside that counts(and not the blood and guts either ) Hopefully see you Saturday.

lightmetal,

Are you saying your wife doesn't know you're coming here? If that's the case, I can just see the fur flying now!

She was given a "heads-up" that this may be occuring, just not "when". She just laughed, and said that it wouldn't surprise her if I did something like that. I think she wants to go, but is kinda nervous, so won't go "on her own". She worked on a tan at a salon during the late winter in preparation for a visit to the resort, so she isn't totally against the idea.

Well, I'm looking forward to seeing you and your family. I hope she does come with you to find out how normal it all is--just nude people enjoying themselves.

With the jump in gasoline prices, this weekend may be cancelled for our family. It's just too bloody expensive, especially at 13 MPG We'll just play it by ear.

Why not travel Balinese style and get about 200km to the gallon?

Lightmetal,

If you don't come this Saturday, you'll miss the 5K race.
