The advice about shoes for the cliffs at Blacks Beach is excellent.
Years and years and years ago (30?) I was in SD for a meeting and thought I'd visit BB. Had shorts to put on instead of my dress clothes, but somehow forgot to take anything but my dress shoes. Made it down the cliff barefoot, but by the time I got to the bottom my feet were terribly sore -- kind of ruined my time because I kept worrying about how I would ever make it back up. Saw a guy heading South on the beach carrying all his stuff. Suspecting he was leaving, I asked him where he was going. Said he always came down a road by the Scripps Institute. I told him my predicamen and asked if I could tag along. He told me, "Sure." After awhile he asked my where I had parked. I told him above the cliff. He said that would be quite a hike from Scripps. I said it would be just along the top of the cliff, wouldn't it. He told me there was no direct route, but that he would give me a ride.
All's well that ends well, I suppose; and thanks buddy, wherever you are!

I visited Deep Creek hot springs during the week this past June and it was quite nice. It was a very mixed group of clothed and not and nobody seemed to care. I can't hike with clothes on, and I didn't, but me and the person I was with were the only two I saw doing that (going that far?...), but nobody seemed to react nor care much. Although everyone seemed friendly enough, I really didn't interact much with the others there, beyond "hello" and I'd guess there were maybe a couple of dozen others, total the whole time. It was HOT in June (but skin deals with that relatively nicely).
Me at Deep Creek this past June:

Well let's see,
Deep Creek is a good one. It is up near San Bernardino just a bit north of there. It is remote and I usually go nude for the mile or so walk down to the hot springs. It can be a bit crowded and the young HS kids like to go out there and party to so not as peaceful as I'd like. I know a spot further up the creek that is very private that has a couple of hotsprings. There's another one out in the boundary area of Death Valley. There is a ton of them further north in the valley near Mammoth Lakes. There used to be a decent soaking spot out in the desert near the Salton Sea called, "Oh my God!" It was bull dozed over after locals complained about the transients and other undesirables hanging out there. You would really need to buy yourself a guidebook to all the hot springs of the south west. Arizona has a few that would be good this time of year but all would be cold at night. Still this is my favorite time of year to go desert camping and a hot or warm spring makes it even better. I may even head out there with some friends next weekend for a camp out.

Al, I wonder if you can recommend some of the desert wilderness hot springs in southern California. Good crowd there?

Yep, I live here. I used to be a member out at The Swallows still a nice sort of place but a bit on the small side. It is the closest club/resort to down town kind of older place and small but nice. You might also consider going an hour, 60 miles or so, further east out to De Anza Springs they are newer and have a larger area plus an indoor as well as outdoor pool. Several more places further to the north Glen Eden, Mystic Oaks, and many more. Just go to the main web page here and look under places to get naked.
Been to Blacks beach in the past. Hell'uva hike down the hill and worse coming back up. It is also the closest one to downtown can be a bit weird though, bit of a freak show on some days. Another beach option is San Onofre in northern SD county about 10 miles north of Oceanside. All the way down at the southern end of the state beach, trail 6. We've been having a colder than normal fall season, about 10 degrees below normal, so the beach is borderline as far as temps go.
Good luck. If the coast is too cool just head inland towards the desert. It's still nice and warm there. But, whereever you go you'll need a car.

You will like blacks beach, It's nice. Just wear some good shoes to hike down the cliffs. It's over in the torrey pines area. Just off of interstate 5 North, or South depending on which way you travel.
There are a couple of nudist resorts out in El Cajon area, If your a member of AANR, or TNS, they will list them. Do visit, I am sure you will have a wonderful time.
