  • Driving to Florida

Have never been to Florida, but Cat and I are going to drive there in Aprial.
What will the weather be like then?
Her brother and his wife are going. Don't know if we will get to go to any c/o spots if there are any along the drive, any suggestions?

      Hi Dan,

Generally you will have awsome weather in Florida in April.

As far as C/O spots along the way...Well plot your course on paper and then look at this: Places To Get Naked and see if you can find some along the way.

      Have a great trip!

Coming from Indiana, you should at least past fairly close to Murphysboro, Tenn. There is one C/O resort there, and also Paradise Valley in Northern Ga.(worth the stop)and the one on the Ga./Fla. border, can't remember the name right away, someone help.Have fun.

Florida is a very big state. Where are you going in Florida? Destin? Orlando? Miami?

Weather - expect low 80's-low 90's in April. It can be cool or it can be hot.

Travel - accomodations - remember, the two weeks surrounding Easter Sunday can be two of the busiest tourist weeks of the year. Going to Disney? Expect crowds.

There are three "super resorts" in Florida. Two are near Tampa - Paradise Lakes and Caliente. Both are pricey. There is a less expensive option in Cypress Cove in Kissimmee, near Orlando.

So, depends where you're going and for what.

Awesome weather....just be sure to bring an umbrella, sunblock, and mosquito repellant because it's FL and that's pretty standard.

If you're driving down I-75 you'll pass nudist mecca about 10 miles north of Tampa. You can choose from larger resorts like Caliente, Paradise Lakes, or smaller resorts like Lake Como.

If you're taking I-95 you'll pass by a small resort near Daytona Beach called "Sunny Sands" and if you drive as far south as Fort Pierce you'll drive right by "Sunner Palms". You'll also pass by all 3 of FL's nude beaches....Apollo and Playalinda central state and Haulover in Miami.

If you drive through the panhandle on your way into FL....there is Riviera, Sunburst and Sunny Oaks.

If you are driving down I-4 through the center of the state there's one of the best resorts, Cypress Cove. AANR lives in the same city, and the resort houses a small museum of nudism that focuses on it's history.

Here is a map that may give you an idea of why FL is the nudist capital of the USA...

                  FL Nudist Resorts

It's been almost a year since I've been back home to FL. You got me thinking of where I should go while I'm there...

                  Enjoy your trip

Low 80's......... Where is the cool weather??

Sorry, I'm from Maine. I just couldn't resist. I take a dip in the water when the air hits 40. In Maine it isn't "April showers bring May flowers", it's "April flurries bring May worries". I enjoy summer, both days.

Actually, we have a very enjoyable summer. temperatures range mid-60's to the mid-80's during the day which is beach weather for us Northerners. The humididty can be oppressive on occasion, but that just gives us an excuse to spend the day in a cool mountain stream .

OK, Orlando is in the middle of the state.

                        Check out Cypress Cove. www.suncove.com

It's around 25 minutes' drive to Disney, if that's what you're going for.

One very important piece of advice. This is CRITICAL.

If you are driving along the main highways to Florida during Easter time - plan your itinerary and book a room in advance.

Also - you might want to consider joining AANR or TNS if you're not already members, if you're planning to visit nudist sites.

"Cool" is relative, but there is the remote chance that you could end up with a high temp of 70F in early April -- very remote and it would be very unseasonably cool - but it happens.

Low 80s is the norm for April.

We have lived in south Florida for 13 yrs now. Migrated from Massachusettes.

April is a transition month from the dry warm spring days, usually mid 80's by then, to the humid, hot rainy season of 90's every day and the afternoon thundershowers.

WWW.fanr.org has a great list of all florida nude facilities. Cypress cove is a great place and has a free day coupon on their web site.

WE also recommend Lake Como near Tampa if you like laid back natural settings.

Dan t ,I highly recommend Sunnier Palms if your going down I-95 @ Fort Pierce. If your looking for a low key relaxing place dont miss this easy to get to place just off 95 on FL Rt. 70 Apollo Beach near New Smyrnais well worth the visit as well, unspoiled beach with great surf and seclusion.
