High Desert Nudist seeks place to live, any suggestions?

Hello, my name is Rod, Im 39 and I am looking for a place in the states where I can live nude nearly 24/7. Anywhere in the states would be fine as I am a Truck Driver and can live any where. I would prefer areas that are not so humid, with lots of hiking trails within an hours drive or so. Somewhere that I could do my gardening in the nude, check mail in the nude, do early morning jogs in the nude weather permitting etc. My daughter is now 16 so I would want a place that is quite safe for her and near a city or large town incase she will want to work or go to school. Currently my daughter Ashley lives in Hawaii and wont be back to live with me until mid 2007. My goal really is to find a nudist community to live in. I hear there are many but I have discovered it to be VERY dificult to find them on the internet so I come here for help.

Desert Shadows in Palm Springs, CA has a small housing development that is associated with the naturist resort. There is even a connecting bridge that can be used nude.

From the outside it appears to be nice housing. I have no idea whether any are currently for sale or not.

Yeah I know of that place but I am not rich and that place catters to the rich person. But Desert Shadows sounds great for a vacation spot....

Theres got to be communities in nearly every state, or am I dreaming?

The group that posts here could be more helpful if you would define more closely the financial range that you are prepared to consider. Initially you indicated that you could live anywhere, but later provided the information that Palm Springs is too expensive for you. That's completely understandable—-it would be true for many of us--but it also means that actually there are many areas that you couldn't consider.

Very true and sorry luvnaturism.... Currently I make about $40,000 a year, sometimes a tad more sometimes a tad less. I would say something that wont cost more than say $1000 a month or abouts. Just a normal middle class range I think, nothing fancy, but tolerant of nudists. I have seen them on TV where people live in mobile homes on nudist community land and really would like something like that. But in the meantime I am just starting my search for a nude frindly area of the States where I can live my life the way Im comfortable. Dont want to be locked up indoors anymore...

Maybe I should be asking how do nudists in the states live their lives happily? What should I be looking for? What areas of the states are more tolerant than others? Etc....

Take a look at those links see where all the resorts are at. Those are the parts of the country that are the most nude friendly, or a combination of that and having the best weather to be naked in. I would look at them and send out a few emails perhaps some phone calls or regular mail. Once you narrow the choices down a bit go out there and have a look get a feel for the place to see if you like it. After you've done this three or four times start ranking them wighing the pro's and con's. Outside of a nudist resort guess the next best thing is to find some land out in the middle of nowhere and do your own thing after that I would say to look at places with secluded backyards that offer lots of privacy so no one can see you. I know several places out here in southern California that have trailers for sale the Swallows, De Anza, Glen Eden, but they sometimes require that you be a member in good standing for a given amoutn of time before they will decide to let you purchase a home on their property. Now that sounds like a game plan. I will do just that... Sounds like maybe I should put in some research for areas in central Arizona, southern california with secluded back yards or enough land to hide even the front yard area. I still want to be close enough to a good size town or city so I dont have to give up my high speed internet. Also, my daughter might want to be close enough to a place that has colledges or trade schools and also be able to get a job, unless I teach her to drive a big rig but I think she needs to be 21 for that.

Anyway thanks for the ideas and game plan. By the way are those places you mention nudist resorts or communities?

You can find "cheap" land in the Tehachapi, CA. area. 40 acres for 90K. You can put up a mobile home in the middle of it and go naked all the time. Of course, you'll have to grade a dirt road into the property, drill a water well, put in a septic system...etc. I plan on buying some acreage in the area off Sand Canyon Road and doing just that. I would like to get 80 to 100 acres so I can build a campground and clubhouse and invite everyone over!
