Little Beach and Red Sand Beach

On this rainy and dreary December day in Ohio, I was looking back at some of my photos from my trip to Hawaii last year.

If you've never been to Hawaii and the nude beaches there, there is only one word to describe them - paradise.

Nice photos - Sure bring back great memories on a rainy day on Vancouver Island. Never got to Red Beach but will definately vist it next year.

In about a month we'll be back at Little Beach. Thanks for reminding me of how beautiful it is. May not make Red Sand Beach this trip; we'll see whether we decide to make the drive to Hana again.

Ah, the memories. I loved the beaches on our trip in September. There was not any nudity at Red Sand on my two visits but I see there was on your visit. Little Beach is my favorite. THANKS for the fantastic pictures.

Red Sand beach wasn't that busy - when compared to Little Beach. But there were a few topless and nudists there. I didn't go nude since the clothed outweighed the naked and I'd read in a book that the police make random visits and arrest the nude.

RS was not very busy on my visits either. I have questioned my decision to stay clothed on this beach many times since I will most likely never be there again. Your logic of staying clothed has helped me deal with my decision, so thank you. I really wanted to strip down and jump in but with a clothed family there, I fought off my impulse. Beautiful location.

Maui Sun Club, which is just a couple of miles from Red Sand Beach, has been sold and is no longer a nudist facility. We really enjoyed our visit to both the beach and club and are sorry to see the end of the club.

Also from OH and going there in Feb. A couple questions about RSB: 1) Looks like there is minimum beach depth there. Is it quite sensitive to the tide? and 2) Sounds like it is frequently not topless/nude. Are certain days or times of the day better than others?

Good photos though - will try to do likewise, and also at Little Beach.

To all readers: Any other beaches to suggest on Maui or Big Island for CO, topless, or nude?

The beach is not really that narrow. It's not that long, but it's not that narrow either. I'd guess atleast 75' wide. I didn't spend a whole lot of time there to know how the tide affected the beach. But you should take some river shoes, or sandals to play in the water. The sand is actually small and rounded rocks. A little harder to walk on than regular sand.

It is not frequented by topless/nude as much as Little Beach - but it is harder to get to and a few hours drive from the airport. But the drive is awesome with the all waterfalls and such!! We went there on a weekday and there were probably a total of 10 people. About 2 topless, and one nude, if I remember.

Best place for CO on Maui is Little Beach. Nudity vary common and mostly accepted.

Very nice photos, OHguy! It is always nice to see how others vacation and the locations they choose. I appreciate seeing the pictures and will make sure I visit when I get the chance.

Thanks for all that. We're renting a cottage in Hana, so will have time to try RSB.

No other suggestions on time of day or week, huh? Probably not.

Been to Little Beach years back. WILL RETURN this trip for sure.

Would love to be on a naturist beach today, and feel warmth of sun all over my naked body, wet and miserable here again today, but nice to look at great beaches and day dream!
