• Glen Eden

    Hi all,

Does anyone know how things are at Glen Eden in So Cal these days. I would like to become an active member with my wife this summer. However, if there is any hint of swinging or weird vibes I know this would adversely affect her regarding social naturism. Are there many young adults? Do many families visit?

    Thanks for the assistance.

I am new at this posting so here goes. I have not been there but am booked for a stay in May if all goes well. I have no qualms booking as this is one of the prime clubs in California. It has been around for a long time and indeed a stay was offered as a prize for a draw in either the Bulletin or one of the INA affiliated publications. I believe it to be the epitome of clubs in California. My partner is new to naturism but she has seen the web site and is excited to go for a week. Good luck. Go visit and enjoy. I believe the site is gleneden.com Check it out.

Glen Eden is very family oriented. They do allow single males to visit and join after a screening process which was a interview with one of the managers. In those cases, a membership to either TNS or AANR or a naturist group helps the single male gain entrance and membership.

As far as swingers and the like, I have never heard of that being an issue there. The management and members are pretty strict about stuff like that and would not tolerate it. I've seen them watch single males quite closely as well as any couples getting too friendly out in the open.

It would be a great place to take your wife, girlfriend or even a female friend for the first time to experience nudism.

We tend to direct new couples wanting to try nudism to Terra Cotta Inn in Palm Springs. It's about 45 mins south of Glen Eden. Small resort, they have a website and if you are interested in more information, let me know, we frequent TCI quite often and know the owners and manager very well. On both points, I agree with FireProf completely. The Terra Cotta Inn and Glen Eden are outstanding facilities with the highest of standards expected from their members and visitors. My wife and I went with some treperdation to the TCI for our very first social nude experiance. Within moments of our arrival we were made to feel welcomed, very safe and comfortable. The time we spent then, and many times since then, has always been the most pleasurable we could expect. As for GE, year after year we are in attendance during the summer months. Like the TCI, a feeling of belonging and safety is every where. The grounds and the other facilities are first rate. I assure you you will have a great time at each place mentioned and will come away with a desire to return real soon. Sawdust

Thank you all for your first hand knowledge. I am glad to hear the positive praises for both GE and TCI.

GE is aslo wheelchair friendly, but I still don't know about the accomadation for stay overs. I was there only one day once. I was very relaxing easy to get round even for my wheelchair. I have to try TCI do any one know how is there for people like me?

                  nudewheelchairTodd,

TCI is wheelchair friendly. We've seen a few nudist in a wheelchair there. The grounds are flat and easy to negotiate. Only one floor and many of the rooms are large enough for a wheelchair to move around. It may get alittle tight on the way to the bathroom. The place was built many years ago before ADA requirements.

ok thanks, I might have to recomend some things to them to make one or two room more ADA, like make the door way wider and put on gab bars by the toilet & shower plus a fold up seat in the shower.

by the way De Anza was very good at putting that in, in their new motel of course ADA is effective now

                        Hi Tofeelgood,

You are making the very best first step, I wish that I had done this.

Our first time was to a questionable resort and there was a lot of swinging and public sex. My wife though still open and she does reluctantly go to a nude resort near our home in Michigan, she still struggles with that experience.

I think that if our first experience had been different, she would have embraced nudism as I have.

It sounds to me like either GE or TCI would be a great first time experience. I have personally considered TCI and would like to go sometime, but it is not a day trip for us

It makes me happier to know that both places are able to accomadate wheel chairs. I would much rather spend time and money at establishments that do. My sister, although a non nudist, uses a wheelchair which makes me more aware to those type of needs.

Ironically, even though she isn't a "naturist" she did need to be nude while confined to her bed after her last surgery. Yes she did have a sheet to cover with, but periodically she needed assistance from the nursing staff and she said that they were all professional, even the male nurses. I know this has nothing to do with the original thread, but just an fyi.
