  • Freedom Acres Resort

Freedom Acres Resort has closed. While this is a swingers resort, not a nudist resort, it was for years. Also known as Deer Park, Buff Creek, Treehouse, and Oakdale. I hope it stays naked!!!!

Anybody know what happened? I know the owner died last year but it was still operating and he's survived by his wife

Freedom Acres was the unfortunate successor of Deer Park and Treehouse Fun Ranch. Deer Park and Treehouse were family friendly and prohibited overt sexual displays. Freedom Acres catered to swingers. In my humble opinion, good riddance!

Back in the 1960s and 1970s, Treehouse had a high profile in the media as host of the Miss Nude USA and Mr. Nude USA contests. Perhaps there are members of this forum who have memories of Treehouse in its heyday.

An interesting aside is that there was another nudist park on the opposite side of the canyon from Treehouse, Lazy K Ranch. The remains of Lazy K Ranch can be found just uphill from California State University San Bernardino.

My personal belief is that the downfall of these nudist parks has been the relative affordability of backyard swimming pools.

There still is a nudist park in the San Bernardino area, Olive Dell Ranch, which is just over the Riverside County line just south of San Bernardino.

I lived in San Bernardino for most of my childhood and still have family in the area. My family was not nudist, and I have never visited any of these nudist parks.

After posting the above photos, it struck me how instantly obvious it is that they are from the 1960s and 1970s - ungroomed pubic hair, no piercings, and no tattoos.

I heard from a friend in California that the property is going to be leveled and made into parking for Fedex.

The property must be quite valuable. It is at the junction of I-15 and I-215. Warehouse distribution centers now line I-215 in northern San Bernardino, and housing subdivisions have been spreading north along I-15 in Rancho Cucamonga, Fontana, and Rialto.

              That's a shame
