I was just wondering if anyone has been to Jacob Riis Park in Rockaway, NY. I just came across an article about NYC beaches and it mentioned that this beach has a clothing optional section. It did not give any other details.

My understanding is that you have very outdated information. It may have been at one time, but definately is not longer CO. The two choices for us are still Gunnison (closer for you) and Lighthouse on Long Island.

If only that were true, since it's just a subway & bus ride away from me!

Thanks for the info. Like I said I came across an article that gave a brief description of New York beaches. I found some pictures of the beach online. It looks to be in pretty bad condition. I also think that it may have been used in a Sopranos episode.

Wow, I used to go to the nude beach at Riis almost thirty years ago.
It was quite an experience since it was a very urban environment.
It was years until I enjoyed nudism again and learned that THE place to go beach wise was Sandy Hook.
Good memories though
