  • Clothes Free podcast for iTunes

Clothes Free Inc. Should do a podcast to reach out to a younger generation. The podcast could be either video or audio and available via iTunes. Right now there is a "nudist" podcast on iTunes BUT it has nothing to do with real nudism.

    Just a thought!!!

That's a good idea. We could use it as another vehicle for the Nudes in the News Webstream.

The only downside is that it would probably cost. I would prefer that it'd be free, so it'd lure more college kids.

I'm suprised that its been this long before someone mentioned it. This is a great opportunity for C.F.I. to get their/our message out to a larger audience. It would also be an excellent way to give a youthful, fresh view of naturism to the younger crowd. As an avid podcsast user, I would say it would have to be free, or you just won't get the numbers. There was an unimaginable number of video iPods sold last Christmas. Build and they will come..

Does anyone know how to go about doing that? We would do it for free unless it costs us a lot.

As a owner of an ipod video, I would love to see that happen.

It should not cost too much money.

TV programs like "60 Minutes, ""NPR," or "Nightline" have podcasts of their programs in audio only formats and they are FREE...Clothes Free TV could make an only audio format of Clothes Free TV then post it to iTunes. It would be a great way to get a younger audience.....later have a video podcast that could be purchased at CFI for a small fee to be viewed on an iPod.

ABC is making millons on pay for episodes of "Lost" CFI could do the same.

              What is a Podcast?

              http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Podcast

              How to make a podcast:

Sorry I do not know how to make a podcast to iTunes myself, but it should be easier than posting a video Episode of Clothes Free TV.

Sounds interesting. Currently, iTunes has two nudist/naturist-themed podcasts:

                - The Naked Tease (more sexually oriented)
                - BareCast (more nudist friendly)

If you have iTunes, you can subscribe to these and other podcasts for free.

The Federation of Canadian Naturists have just started doing the same. This is their announcement from this afternoon:

"As the FCN has a long history of being an adopter of new technologies, w are proud to announce our first podcast.

                  http://www.fcn.ca/podcast/

If you are an iTunes user, you can find the podcast at:
                  http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewP...d=152476079&s=143455

You do not need an iPod to listen. The Podcast is an MP3 which almost any computer can play.

If you don't know much about Podcast but would like to learn, visit: http://podcasts.yahoo.com/start?i=1

At this time, there is only one Podcast available. We would love for this to be a regular show. Most podcasts work that way. Unfortunately, it is all very time consuming. Hopefully we will be able to find some volunteers who are willing to commit to doing podcasts more regularly.

In the meantime, we would appreciate your thoughts and comments on our first Podcast."

What little I know about it is that you have to have an MP3 of your sound. (I think you can use other formats, but MP3 is your best bet.) As for how to do it exactly, I've seen books on how to do it in bookstores like Barnes and Noble and Borders.

As for the cost, it shouldn't cost too much. It'll more than likely cost less than ClothesFree TV costs to make each episode.

In my opinion, the best thing to do is let non-CFI members get the podcast. That way, we can actually try to get a younger audience that can't pay the membership fee, or isn't aware of CFI.

"Podcast" is just a trendy way of saying MP3 audio file. All you need to do is provide a link for downloaders.

This article details how to submit your podcast to a number of Podcast sites and directories. iTunes specific directions are here.

I pretty much agree with everyone here. A podcast is a great idea. It's very cost-effective and the range of topic discussion on nudism are endlless. You can conduct interviews, promote nudist resorts, discuss issues nudists face, etc. I have 8 podcast subscriptions that I listen to all the time. CFI should definitely consider it.

The new line of Apple computers comes with Podcast software built in.
