  • Ever come across someone else?

I'm wondering if anyone has ever "stumbled" upon someone else nude sunbathing or skinny dipping. I've never run into anyone else as most spots are really secluded.

Also, a personal update: The fiance is perfectly okay with me being nude in the apartment and even encouraged me to work out in the nude! Things are great!

What do you mean by "stumbling across" others?

If you go to a known skinny-dipping spot, you will run into other people if it's a nice day.

If you go to a nudist / naturist preserve or resort, obviously you're going to run into other people, because it is a social group. BUT ... if you mean people you've known from the "outside world" .. the answer is yes, I have.

My favourite instance of "stumbling upon someone else" happened near Lake Tahoe in California. A girlfriend and I decided to hike au natural up to a secluded forest spot, with a nice view and next to a stream, for a picnic. When we got to what we thought was our secret place, we found three other university-aged couples already there just as unclad as we were! A frizbee came our way as a welcome and it turned out to be a pleasant afternoon with new friends.

So far, it never happened. You always make new friends, but at this point, everybody is nude.

In Europe just walking along the beach a long ways I stumbled across a nude area once and had no idea. It was not "official", just practiced at times.

A couple of times, both on service calls. One was when I went up a stairwell and looked down behind a 'privacy' enclosure and a lady was sunbathing. She just casualy rolled over and I continued on my job. Another time, I was told the gentleman was a day sleeper and to just walk in to work on the window air conditioner. As I did, the gentleman woke up and went to use the restroom. He slept in the nude. He excused himself to which I stated it wasn't a problem. He finished his business and went back to bed and I continued on.

At nude beaches and CO hot springs, yeah, all the time (as others have stumbled across me).

One time some friends and I were hiking out a favorite (and remote) river canyon where we'd spent the day skinnydipping and sunning naked and came upon a naked guy, exploring alone. We were in shorts for the hike out and he was naked and he seemed really self-conscious, as if he didn't understand we'd been naked all day. I wanted to tell him it was way OK with us.

Its happend a couple of times.

As part of my exercise program I spend a lot of time hiking during the better weather and have run across nude people. One place I've come to realize is frequented by nude sun bathers very often. Generally though this just doesn't happen often in NY. I think part of the problem is the lack of warmth.

There have been other occasions to, either people swimming or sunbathing. It has happened in the Adirondacks back when I use to spend lots of time up there. Of course you can't spend a lot of time nude in the mountains unless you have a tolerance to black flies and mosquitoes. Well that and the cold, never jump into a mountain lake before checking the temperature!

Of course there are the places where you kinda expect to find sun bathers so that doesn't count in my book.

In most cases people tend to cover up or roll over. Once and a while you get hostile people who seemly own what ever piece of land their bodies lay on.

                    Never really.

The only times I've 'stumbled' across naked people is when I was looking for a remote naturist beach in the first place.
Finding other naked people meant my search was successful.

I was once hiking naked in the mountains of Snowdonia when I noticed a woman in the distance. Surpisingly, the woman appeared to be in her sixties but topless, so I decided to remain naked and continued to walk along the same track.

As we got closer she then removed her shorts revealing her nakedness too . She smiled and said 'hello, I'm a naturist too'.

We then chatteda while about naturism. She explained that she loves walking naked in the mountains too and that she only put her shorts on because she saw someone (me) walking in the distance, not realising I was naked too.

We than continued on our separate ways.

I've never stumbled upon anybody sunbathing nude or skinny dipping but, I have been 'stumbled upon' by others doing so...

It happened a couple of years ago when me & 2 other friends decided to go for a nude outing one afternoon at a stretch of beach that we knew was secluded. Upon arriving it was apparent that other people also knew that the beach was secluded enough for a quiet spot of fishing along a stream nearby that leads out to the sea.

Not wanting to offend them & be a nuisance we drove off to farthest end of the beach where it was certain that nobody would be around. We managed a good couple of hours of being nude & skinny dipping.

It was while we were sitting around having snacks & chatting away that we realized at the very last moment that a 4WD vehicle with 4-5 other guys driving up slowly behind us. The ground was grassy & wasn't even so every vehicle coming into the area had to drive slowly & bcos of this, the 4WD's engine was reduced to a 'hum'. We only heard it was directly behind us when it drove over some dried branches on the ground.

Obviously the men were looking for a good spot to fish (judging from the fishing poles they brought along) & was surveying the area when they stumbled on us. I'm guessing that it was obvious & clear to them that we were nude. They just smiled & lifted their hand in a greeting gesture, we said our 'hello's' too, & the driver said that they were just driving through, while maneuvering his vehicle away.

Personally my friends & I wouldn't mind if they wanted to set up their fishing spot nearby. It is after all an open public piece of land by the sea. But, I think they were a bit embarrassed seeing us nude & probably just wanted us to have our privacy.

I'm curious, and I'll admit right up front that this has been a concern for me, does anybody else here have a sense of danger in being discovered nude in a remote area by multiple people? I mean if you are a woman there's the danger of rape and if you're a man there's the danger of attack.

I haven't personally stumbled on any nudist, but my wife's Grandfather and Dad did years ago on a mountain trail in Colorado. They came across a topless female hiker, and said it was pretty obvious she did this quite often.

he said stumbled upon not stumbling across

stumbled upon = accidentally seen a nude person
