  • What makes you a naturist?

I know for me when ever the sun is shining or it is warm enough I like to get naked, especially on the beach or in the secluded part of my garden, when I arrive at the beach I strip off as soon as possible, maybe sometimes before arrive at official naturist zone, but it is usually early in the morning and not many people about and then again walk as far as I can back to car before dressing again!
Was chatting to a friend at a recent naturist event about this, as some people arrived to promote a naturist holiday company. They were dressed while they set up and stayed so for a couple of hours, but eventually I saw they had taken off trousers and underwear, but still had t-shirt on, so is that still naturist or should we get totally naked when ever possible? Maybe the answer is just do what feels right to you in the circumstances, but I know I take more interest in a naturist holiday company, if sales reps where naked too, especially at a naturist event!

What makes one a naturist is one's ability to enjoy the great outdoors in a nudist environment. Be it at home, in a national park, on a nude beach, at a nude resort, the ability to simply enjoy a day, or days without having to dress for anything.

Enjoying a nude day could be by yourself or with others. It could be for a social gathering or self relaxation, which could be a form of mild stress relief. Personally, I'm more at ease when I'm naked. Seems like the worries go with the clothes.

I guess another reason would be the attraction to nude physical sporting activities. I haven't paarticipated in anything like that, but it would sure seem like a great thing to do. I know when I work in the backyard (nude), I get more done and I feel that more refreshed.

      Nice topic.

barebum and nudeM - You both have expressed it well and echoed my feelings.

I know that I am just happier when the sun is shining and able to get naked. It is even better if there are others to share this feeling with.

Interesting that the question was "What makes you a naturist", rather than "nudist". I'd say I'm a naturist in that I'd rather sunbathe and swim naked, although I'm not naked inside the house routinely (apart from sleeping).

Nudem has expressed my sentiments very well. I enjoy being nude in nature, be it a desert or mountains or a nice beach. I also have a private yard and a garden that I enjoy nude. It is the best tension reliever I can think of, although many people don't understand that and think I'm crazy.

Very well said Barebun and nudeM. There's nothing like the feel of the sun and a light breeze on ones bare body.
