Given that this is a presidential political year, are there any issues which effects our lifestye that folks would like candidates and elected official to address? My question is not solely for the presidential election, of course, but aslso on the state and local level as well.

If you had the chance to ask a candidate one question, what would it be?

here's the question - 'are you gonna pretend to support various causes (specifically the environment) just to get elected and than turn around and screw the little guys that voted for you because all you care about is your rich, oil pushing, gas-guzzling friends?" oh wait, that was my question for bush, sorry.....

Several years ago, I went to a special political meeting, where all the assorted candidates were invited to put their case, in a non-partisan environment.
One "independant" candidate, who "those in the know", knew to belong to the religious right, came through to the audience, in a most impressive manner.
He had a very pleasant personality, and I would say he was a genuinely nice guy.
He said the things most people want to hear, about healthcare, social security, full employment, education, law and order, and so on.
I approached one of his obvious supporters, during the break, and asked him why this kind of candidate says the things that everyone wants to hear, but, if he gets elected, [this one didn't], uses his position to push his own moral agenda, often in the knowledge that he does not have majority support for this, in the community.
The supporter rolled his eyes to Heaven, and piously said, "One man with God is a majority".
Dangerous thinking, even from "nice guys".

My question that would apply to anyone in politics is this: Why is the price of gasoline skyrocketing to a level we have never seen before? With the rising prices based only on a production cutback beginning April 1st, I can only imagine, but disbelieve at the same time, prices of $3.00 to $4.00 a gallon by midsummer. And also, the price of steel products doing the same because of not allowing these products to be brought in from China. Bush's improving economy is goting to go down the s**t hole.

These questiions are all valid and important topics, but my original question was trying to focus on naturism/nudism issue. Or do you think that most candidates and elected officials won't even bother to address these issues. Issues such as; more beaches and parklands space for nude recreatiion, clothing-optional hours a ymca's and public pools, and policies towards school showers.

I guess a broader question would be; how do candidates feel about our lifestyle and the issues we put forth?

Seeing that most nudists do so in private, most politicians don't even have a clue how many they have in their constituency. We are not a large enough group, or vocal enough, for any politician to pay attention to us.

I will agree that having to devote time and resources to defend something that is already clearly defined is ridiculous. The people trying to change the definition should be the ones inconvenienced, not us.

As far as a "stupid war", all wars are stupid but will continue to be necessary for the foreseeable future.

When we are finally comfortable enough to publicly admit who we are, then maybe then we will actually gain some clout.
