If you know of some great vacation spots for nudists I could use your help.

These are the guidelines for what I would consider a great place to go.

    1. I want a place that is warm during the end of December, or the first 2 weeks of January. Mid 70's or 80's are what I consider warm.
    2. C/O Beaches and/or swimming pools are a must. Even better if both are C/O.
    3. Nature Hikes or nice Scenery for photography would be a plus.
    4. A "resort" atmosphere would be nice but something less crowded would be ok too as long as we're not the only one's there.
    5. Resonable pricing. Something around $100 a night wouldn't be out of line. I could afford more if there were some extras like meals and activities included in the price.
    6. It needs to be somewhere in the U.S. . Somewhere I can Drive to so as to avoid the extra expense of airfare and transportation once I'm there. Unless of course there happens to be a fantastic rate for some Island in the Caribbean.
    7. A nude Cruse might even be fun if I could do it for under $1,500 per couple.

I hope I'm not being too fussy. LOL! I have been to Haulover Beach in Florida 2 years in a row and if all else fails I will be going there again. I just thought it might be fun to explore other Winter Vacation options.

Thanks in advance for any input you may offer.

There is no place in this country where you can guarantee those temps at that time of year. Even Miami gets cold sometimes in mid winter.

Thanks for the input but I'm not looking for a guarantee of nice weather. Just a strong possibility of it.
I was in Miami last year over NewYears and the temps hit 84. I'm sure there have to be more places than miami that can get that warm that time of year.
I'm willing to take my chances as long as there is a fair possibility of Decent weather.

        Still Looking....

Why not consider Hawaii, especially the Big Island. OK, you can't drive to it, but you can usually get a discount flight from LA ($399 round trip?). Hawaii will certainly meet your weather requirements.

I vacation regularly on the Big Island in the Puna District which is south-west of the eastern-most point of the island, near clothing-optional Kehena Beach. The best way to get to the area is to fly in to Hilo.

There are lots of outdoor natural attractions in this area, and accommodations (B&Bs and cottages) are inexpensive. Use google and search for or or similar and you'll find all sorts of places.

This is not a resort area but there is Kalani Oceanside Resort, which is a new-age type place that is very peaceful, with a range of accommodations options. Their pool is clothing-optional after 7 p.m. You don't need to participate in any of their programs to stay there.

Also, check out www.alternative-hawaii.com for lots of information about all of the islands.

              Yup,

Your best bet is to fly some place. Hawaii, Caribbean, etc. We were in Kauai in January of last year. Partly cloudy, temps in the mid 70's to high 70's. There is a state park that you can hike the coast and hike down to some secluded beaches. We did not partake that time but are planning a return trip and will take the hike the next time.

Good luck finding that place that meets most of your desires. It's out there...just gotta keep looking.

The hike to which you refer is the Kalalau Trail along the Na Pali Coast ("Na Pali" means "The Cliffs"), which is on the north-west corner of Kauai, starting at Ke'e Beach. This hike is difficult, but is in one of the most beautiful areas on earth.

The hike is usually done as a backpacking trip over several days. A permit is required in order to camp, and the limited number for each day usually sell out months in advance.

However, you can do a day trip to Hanakapi'ai Beach and the waterfall inland from it. While there's quite a bit of nudity beyond this beach, I'm told that, because of the popularity of the day hike, nudity on this first leg is a no-no. Note: If you go, there is no swimming at Hanakapi'ai Beach -- way too dangerous.

You might check out the some of the spas or natural hotsprings out in the desert south west. I usually prefer to camp so I don't know about hotel accomadations. Also heard about a new resort down in Baja, Mexico. It is supposed to have a clothing optional beach though I have never been there. I have been to a hotsprings in Baja, Canyon de Guadalupe, very nice they have a small store and camping area and you can reserve one of the improved natural hotsprings so you are the only ones to use it.

1st, don't rule out airfare, it can be rather cheap if you look around, and it may save a day or two of your vacation time. You may want to consider St. Martin or Jamaica. Airfare to St. Martin may a $100 more per person than Jamaica, however, you may be able to find a cheaper Hotel near Orient beach, which is CO, whereas in jamaica, you would have to stay at a resort that has CO or AN accomodations, so your options are more limited. For good, accurate information, try http://www.traveltalkonline.com/ and go to either the forum for each destination, or you can look in a special forum for nude destinations...good luck

Steve, you will be lucky to find anything for $100 per night in your hometown in dead winter. But seriously, even normal Beach towns in the "off" season will be as much as that, and if it is a warm destination in the winter, then it is "in" season there. A "reasonable" place may be as high as $200 per night. Caribbean "in" season is usually early to mid December through Mid April. Hurricane Season is from June through October (approx) and rates are lower then.

Morningside Inn in Palm Springs is in your price range. This is a modest c/o bed and breakfast. We've stayed there and had a good time, though it's not of the same standard as Terra Cotta Inn or Desert Shadows. The couple who run it are very nice.

We've stayed at Palm Springs three different years between Christmas and New Year. Two of the years the weather was nice, and certainly quite acceptable for nude sunning. Last year wasn't of much use to nudists, but we still had a good time. There's a ton of things available to do in the general area.

If you go to Palm Springs, I recommend that you splurge one night and go to the Palm Springs Follies. This is a vaudeville-type show done in the style of the Ziegfeld Follies. The cast are all older professional entertainers. The show absolutely blows you away.

Our favorite place to stay in Palm Springs is Terra Cotta Inn. The place just has a wonderful feel to it. I just looked at their web site. During part of the time you mentioned they're running special rates that would bring them into your price range. My understanding is that they have the highest occupancy rate in Palm Springs, so if you want to go there you have to book early.

                        Good luck.
