How many dedicated female naturists never wear underwear, and what do they do when shopping for clothes, i.e. how do shop assistants react?

Strange question.
Here in the US it wouldn't matter if you wore underwear or not. Shop assistants are not in the changing rooms with you and if they are bringing you a different size in clothes, it wouldn't matter then either. Most women are in their underwear anyway in changing rooms and if you don't wear underwear you are just naked in the changing rooms and it makes no difference to the shop attendants as they are use to seeing women undressed or naked in their changing rooms. There is no reaction, just attendants being helpful if they can.

Your reply surprises me, Allie; I read only a few years ago that a female customer was asked to dress (i.e. put on the only garment she was wearing when she entered the shop) and leave the premises. Have attitudes changed that much in such a short time?

No, Pampelmousse they have not changed.
In fact most clothiers require underwear to be worn when trying on clothing as a matter of hygiene, (this inexplicably applies morseo to females than males, as the hygiene concerns would be the same I should think.).
Now, reactions to seeing another woman sans underwear in the dressing rooms would most likely vary as to the personalities of the attendants and other women trying on clothes as well ... from non-registering to abject horror and everything in between.

Not with any of the stores I have shopped: Macy's, Dillard's, Belks .... shop attendants have never asked me to dress while in the changing room. There are notices in the changing room when trying on swimsuits to either use a modesty shield which the stores provide or to wear panties. Otherwise, I have never been told to dress or to have panties on.
I understood your question to be about changing/dressing rooms. Now if you are talking about entering the shop period, the attendants would have no way of knowing if you have underwear on or not. Were you referring to the changing/dressing rooms?

They don't worry about the guys because we never go shopping for clothes. And when we do, we often just get our size without trying it on and get the h#ll out as quickly as humanly possible.
Man, I hate to go shopping, especially for clothes. And, no, it has nothing to do with being a naturist.
Pampelmousse - your question is very strange. Are you from a country outside of the U.S. with vastly different customs? If you are from the U.S., then the fact that you asked this question makes me think that you're deriving mild sexual pleasure from the responses here. Please tell me I'm wrong!

I hardly ever wear panties and have never been asked to put any on when trying clothes on. I have only been to one store where the attendant was actually in the dressing room with me helping me with some dresses, and she didn't say anything about my lack of underwear. Most of the stores that I shop at have the private changing rooms where nobody else is around so it's not an issue

I notice from a quick review of Pampelmousse's posts that Pampelmousse (a misspelling of the French word 'pamplemousse' (grapefruit)) frequently asks questions of the same genre as this one. It would indeed seem to be a topic of particular interest of his.

Sorry, but not all guys just buy sizes and split. Some of us actually try on clothes. As far as pants, yea, I try them on sans underwear. I don't see why females would be any different.

Perhaps it's just me....but to be trying on pants without underwear that other women have tried on without underwear would be the same as sitting on a chair without a towel where another woman just sat without a towel.... Not sanitary - not good etiquette... And females are different NudeM -that time of the month for one thing and that area can be moist where men aren't...
