2nd Nude Modeling gig

I'm doing my second nude modeling gig tomorrow (Tuesday) at the St. Louis Artists guild... should be fun.. I enjoyed it the first time.

This is drawing.. so I'm holding poses.

A female friend of mine just expressed interest and enough bravery to go and try modeling since I'll be there, so I'm going to take her up on it.. I'm still figuring she'll chicken out at the last minute, but we'll see. I think its a big stretch of her to at least seriously consider it.

My latest nude modelng gig (Tuesday, Nov 29 @ 7pm GMT-6) went well. Just a day before I was scheduled to do it, a female friend of mine (Trixie) expressed interest in wanting to give nude modeling a try for the first time after hearing me describe doing it back in April (7 months ago, my first time). I thought she may back out or something at the last minute, but kudos to her for going through with it. She isn't a nudist although she knows I have been for quite a while now.

So we met at Applebee's to eat dinner and meet two other friends that were due to be at the Artist's Guild. After leaving Applebee's and on the way to the studio, she had a small fender-bender which delayed us about 25 minutes, making us about 10 minutes late to the class. It was not a big deal at all as artists were still showing up but it sucks to be rushed like that.

Upon getting to the outside door of the Artists Guild, Trixie and I heard two young artists (apparently high schoolers with a homework assignment talking about how they had to find either a friend to pose nude for them to draw or go to the Artist's Guild, hence the reason they were now there. We ended up walking into the room with them, but quickly had disrobed and were entering the room nude. I don't think they realized we were the models for their class when we were chatting..

The modeling itself, I find very soothing and relaxing.. definitely a sort of existentialism mechanism or something. But I really liked doing it with someone else where we could chat/etc. But I find myself whimsically thinking about the experience.. and its hard to put a finger on exactly why I like it. I like it on many levels. The expression of one's own freedom is one them.. another is the vulnerability that is overcome. Helping grateful artists is another.. Its mirror one's life of change, exploration, being able to be open, etc..

The session itself consists of 5 2-min poses, 2 5-min posts, 2 20-min poses and a 40-min pose. It sounds like a lot, but it isn't really. On the short poses, you can do more intense things such as stretching your body or strange contortions.. on the long poses you can get more comfortable so you don't get tired, etc. I've found I'm definitely concern with doing poses that the artists will approve of, but they really are consistent in expecting only what is comfortable.

Overall it was again a very enjoyable experience.. One I proudly will include actively in my life for a long time.

What was your friends response when it was over? Will she do it again?

She really liked it and wants to definitely do it again.. either with me or alone. Apparently its more difficult to get woman models (doesn't surprise anyone here) so she may be in slightly more demand, but we'll see.

So she went a long way in a quick time and I'm proud of her for that.. not many can do that.

Thanks for the interesting journal article, which also mention local familiar places in our region. I bet Chief will now model at a few of these other locales mentioned also.
