Anybody had any really magical nude moments? Something so wonderful that you'll never forget.

    Here's mine.

I was about 10 or 11 years old and away at a Y.M.C.A. camp. The leaders took us on a hike, not telling us where we were going. At the end of the trail we had to climb down a cliff face at the oceans edge then we entered a massive cave. In those days it was common practice to skinny dip at Y or scout camps. (I don't think it happens much any more, it's not P.C.) The cave was all rocks and opened out to the ocean with the waves rushing in. Inside were literally thousands of penguins and although they would waddle away when we got close they weren't afraid of us. They seemed to find us as interesting as we found them. After a brief nature lesson one of the leaders yelled "Who wants to go swimming?" Within 10 seconds there were about 50 or 60 boys of all ages and 3 men rushing naked towards the water. I'll never forget that day. We had a wonderful time jumping off the rocks, swimming and chasing the penguins. They seemed to play with us in the water and would come close enough to touch them then they'd dart off. What a sight it must have been. Penguins, boys and men, together, all swimming, laughing and as nature intended. It was truely magical and one of the greatest moments of my life. I'll always be thankful to those leaders for that day. It made me love nature. Love being a part of nature. Love being nude.

    Tell us your story.

That was an absolutely wonderful story, pukunui. I wish I could say that I had something that magical happen to me, nude or no!

And it is a shame that none of the youth in today's YMCA or scouts can experience something similar.

Maybe someone (maybe INA or TNS!) should start a new scouting organization that is based on naturism..

That's a hard story to match. I don't think many of us will be able to get over that bar. However, we can all share it a bit. Thanks for posting it.

Magical moments that come to my mind include some hours spent hiking nude in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, and a wonderful outdoor massage at a hot spring.

Sounds like a brilliant day Pukunui. If that was to happen today the Leaders would be dismissed and taken to court, and we would be reading for weeks of their disgusting behaviour.
Just wondering, have we gone forward or backwards here.
It makes me remember though when i was about 12 or 13 on a camp to Orere Point, and a bunch of the boys went down to the creek to skinny dip.No penguins though, just heaps of eels.Aaaahh the innocence of youth.

        Cheers KIWI

Penguins? Where were you, pukunui? When I think of penguins, I think of cold areas such as Antarctica. And I somehow doubt that was where your Y hike led you.

But anyway, I loved that story and wish the insane pedo witchhunts would just stop so childhood nudity could be seen as what it is supposed to be: innocent.

I believe the farthest north one can find Penguins is in an area of South Australia (state). Not sure tho....Aussies?

"pukunui" is a New Zealand mountain - perhaps the penguins and pukunui were in NZ ????

Not sure if you'd classify it as "magical", but that first day my wife and I walked the entire 3+ miles of Orient beach in the nude was one of those dreams come true. She gave us Club Orient for our anniversary a few years back and we've been returning every year since.

A Magical moment that I remembred after all these years was the time I X-Country skied (clothed ) to the Hot Creek Hot Springs from the snow blocked end of the road near the Mammoth Airport...about 3 miles in about 4ft of snow..with my heavy metal downhill skis..Joined 3 others nude enjoying the fantastic view of Snow covered Mt Morrison and the High Sierra and an unbelievably clear dark blue sky from the soothing warm waters...Outstanding!

There's a magic spot on top of a cliff over looking Hippie Hollow in Austin Texas. No one is ever up there and you get an awesome view of the lake. The only problem is that if you go too far, you "magically" and suddenly end up on the road in plain site of passing motorists :P

Although I have had quite a few times I would consider magical (I've been a nudist for over 20yrs)I believe the day my mom and dad first caught me nude at my home would be the most magical because it was at that moment I didn't care who saw me nude or knew I was a nudist.

I was living here at Shady Point, OK and my folks lived in Mabelvale (just outside Little Rock,AR). I had always told my family members from that area to always call before coming so they would know if I would be home or not. It is a 200 mile drive. One day I was outside watering the grass in the nude and while I am bending over turning off the water, I hear a car coming down the drive. I just figured it was one of my kids or friends from up here that knew I would be nude. Well, The car stopped, doors opened and my mom hollers,"Hello, son." I look up and there stand my mom and dad with a grin on their faces, waving at me. I realize There is no reason to hide myself now. I wasn't ashamed of being nude so I wasn't going to run or try to hide myself. I just put a smile on my face and went over and gave them a hug and kiss. All through the visit no one acted as if anything was wrong or said anything about it. As I said, from that moment on I have been open about my nudism to everyone.

Shaybare, good for you. There are a lot of people who would love to have that sort of openness within their families.

Shaybare, that's a great story! Not sure any thing I could think of that would be as good as that. I do know it was very magical and special the first time I was able to be free and nude outside. That feeling that I can never find the words to explain/describe to textiles. I also think it's magical and a gift when I can find like minded nudist friends that understand and enjoy the same lifestyle that I do.

Very nice story Shay. I wonder what would have happened if my parents caught me nude. They probably would have turned around and left.

It was in New Zealand. Near Akaroa Harbour, half way down the South Island. I was born and raised there. Don't know of a Mountain in N.Z. called Pukunui OZJames, where is it? You're right though, it is a Maori (N.Z.) word.
