The Cove is a great place.. they have well kept grounds, nice clean room rentals and two large pools as well as a ski lake with a small beach. The people are nice, as most nudists are. I've been there a few times and plan to join later this spring.
You may also want to check out Lake Como Resort here in Land O Lakes. It's more rustic but is also very laid back & friendly, and shares many features with Cypress Cove. Their hot tub is the best I've seen.Comment

mrs lurk and I have spent vacation time there every November for the past five or six years.
We love the Cove. We are in our 50s, and while there are some in their 20s-30s-40s, please keep in mind that it's a (generally) older crowd.
While it's laid back, it is not without its share of social activities. On Monday nights during the winter-spring, there's a dance, cabaret style. They also have a dance on Saturday, which seems to attract a bit of a younger crowd.
Their restaurant is good -- most entrees around $10. They have a breakfast buffet, with a guy who will make a custom omelet, on weekends for around $7.
There is a poolside pub, also nothing fancy but certainly more than adequate, called "Cheeks" - and it offers basic food (sandwiches, hamburgers, tacos and pizza at night, and a bar) - and it's all reasonably priced.
I've always visited as part of a couple (mrs lurk and me) and get the "national org" discount with our TNS card. It's my understanding that singles may require a TNS or AANR (or FCN) membership for admission. Check with the Cove.
Advance reservations are recommended for rooms if you are planning on visiting in a "high season" (like, the next seven-eight-nine weeks or so). RV space is also tight so call if you're traveling with a trailer or RV.

The atmosphere - some activity, almost bustling. Friendly, sociable people, if you choose to make friends. It is more down-to-earth than the other two Florida resorts - Caliente and Paradise Lakes, but it has most of the amenities.
It's not super-luxurious, but it's very comfortable. It's modest in price.
There's dancing, dining, a few drinks, but not a party atmosphere. If you want to have a couple of pops, a good meal, and some good companionship, you'll get your chance.
But if you're looking for the Coors twins, they ain't there.Comment

Hmm last time I checked there are a few more Nudist resorts in FL than those three.
A resort doesn't have to be a multi-million dollar extravagant behemoth.Comment

Shhhh Doug, we don't want everyone to know how nice and relaxing Lake Como nudist resort is.
It is funny how many paradise and caliente members hang out in the Butt Hut on karakoke nights.Comment

I was there a few weeks ago during a VERY rainy day. Cheeks bar/snack bar had friendly people as did the hot tub.
It will always remain my favorite actual resort on the East coast and remains the Cadillac of nudist venues.

I was there during their Parrot Head weekend. There were many folks there. The volleyball courts were pretty active. I enjoyed the lake taking out a canoe or peddle boat. The staff was very friendly as were the other guests.Comment

I went to Cypress Cove on Daytona 500 weekend, February 19. I have a TNS membership and went there as a single male. I had absolutely no trouble getting in, and enjoyed the breakfast buffet as my first activity there. It is great.
I then spent most of the day there wandering around by the pools and the hot tubs. As in most nudist venues, the people were very friendly, and I had no trouble stiking up conversations when I wanted to, and was left alone when I wanted to just relax and get some sun. I also had lunch at Cheeks, and they were very friendly.
Unfortunately, the temperature was a little bit cool, and it was cloudy that day. Each day they have a pentanque game at 9:00 and at 2:00, and they are very friendly there, and willing to teach anyone about the game. There is also tennis, volleyball, and other activities, and there are a lot of people around all the time.
It's a real class place, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to go and visit for some nude time, and to get acquainted with people. As has been said, if you want to walk up to someone, and strike up a conversation, it's easy to do.

What nu'une says is true of nearly any nudist park. There are some exceptions -- but...
(paraphrased from an old listerver e-mail of around eight years ago)....
A park or club or resort does not have to admit singles. If they admitted (the hypothetical) you as a single male, it means that they don't discriminate against singles.
When you check into Happy Acres, or Cypress Cove, or any resort -- someone will likely show you the pool, the showers, a list of rules, where the restaurant is, and tell you about a few social activiites.
After that, the rest is up to you. At most places, people may not necessarily come up to you and befriend you -- or engage you in conversation. But if there's a bar (a la Cheeks at the Cove) and you go up, have a brew, you should be able to strike up a conversation with others at the bar.
Don't drink? No problem -- hit the petanque court. Nearly every club has some sport or game activity -- get involved and meet the folks.
If you have average social skills, then you should have no problem at a nudist gathering or club.
Remember, however -- it's called SOCIAL nudism.
If you're not a social person, you may not like social nudism.Comment

When I lived in Florida, I frequented the cove regularly and always had a great time even though the majority of guests were considerably older then me. Excellent food, courtious service and lots to do. I loved sailing on the lake and just doing nothing by the large pool. I also thoroughly enjoyed the massages at Relaxation Station and often did not want to leave the table when I was done! It wasn't really a "party" place as I remember it, although I understand they have more evening activities now. I highly recommend it.Comment

Cypress Cove is a great. I went for the first time in December. The resort is quite nice and well maintained.
Unfortunately, I went at a bad time. It was quite chilly in FL at the time. In addition, the resort did not have many visitors.
Nonetheless, Cypress is GREAT and I would highly recommend going.
